Chad Uses BAD blades!

Volume 127 Treet Dura Sharp Use 2

Well yesterday was shave two with this blade and I put it in a more aggressive razor, it provided a pretty decent shave in all honesty. However it still left a lot to be desired. And couple that with the rusting issues these blades are prone to, I can never see myself purposely obtaining these blades. Therefore It gets an overall rating of bad.



RATING SYSTEM
TRASH: Can't get a good shave. This blade is horrible. Never use again.
BAD: A bad blade but technically still got a serviceable shave, but have no desire to use the blade again.
GOOD: It was good enough that if I have another blade I wouldn't hesitate to use it.
100PACK: This blade was good enough to warrant stocking up!

WOW, that's a big break but we'll stay tuned. @Bill in Oneida says my Wizamet SI are in from Morocco so I'll get a couple off to you soon as I retrieve them from him.
 
I guess Chad’s has enough shave punishment for now. Shave Council votes to allow said break.
 
Volume 127 Merkur Platinum Use 1

well I'm back! Today was the Merkur Platinum blades. Most everyone has used these. When you buy a Merkur razor you get some of these blades. Merkur is known for being budget friendly to enter the wetshaving world that we all love so many people this is the first blade they try. So needless to say impressions are poor. And I am one of them. My first razor was a long handle 34c and I hated these blades. Actually threw them away. Too sharp and ripped me to shreds. When doing research I realized veteran wetshavers were giving positive reviews interesting. My opinion was actually a pretty darn good shave! But a very sharp blade. Watch the video for more.
Cost wise... These are expensive ranging between 54 cents up to 90 cents a blade!

 
Good to see you back Chad. A friend bought 10 packs of 10 (100) Merkur blades for me for $2 and I was surprised at them being decent as well (y)
 
Nice review. I tried Merkur when I was new wetshaver, and I liked it. But these blades are most expensive blades you can get in this part of the world, so never used them again. And probably won't. For me better blades are available for less money, and I think this is their biggest problem.
 
Volume 128 Merkur Use 2

Alright no excuse, but use 2 of this blade happened Tuesday and I just haven't had time to recap it yet. The shave went a bit better than expected again. This blade is actually quite good and very sharp. I am impressed by how sharp it is. It is borderline on the 100 pack rating but unfortunately due to price some places nearly 90 cents a blade I can not give this blade the 100 pack rating. I most likely will never buy these blades but it is good to know that the next time I order a Merkur Razor I don't need to throw away the blades.
