Today is Saturnalia and my 40th birthday! Being such a special day it is certainly a time to indulge. My first great shaving love is, and always will be Old Spice. I have a small collection of vintage items, and use them rarely. Today I've brought out some perfect vintage examples to enjoy the day. I have a complete vertical of OS Soap, After Shave, Cologne, Face Talcum and Body Talcum. These are from the "new in box" gift sets, #3381 (After Shave and Talcum) and #380 (After Shave and Cologne). The soap is a used puck found in a Late Glass Mug #2, Ship Grand Turk.
This was the first use of this soap after aquision, so I washed it first and then lathered. The wash help to act as a bloom, and produced very thick lather, with the lightest hit of that vintage aroma. I chose my favorite Slim Adjustable and a new Nacet to wack down the whiskers. The entire experinece was amazingly relaxing and enjoyable. It is always a pleasure to time travel with such wonderful vintage items.

Soap: Vintage Shulton Old Spice (Ship Grand Turk mug)
Splash: Vintage Shulton Old Spice After Shave
Cologne: Vintage Shulton Old Spice
Finish: Vintage Shulton Old Spice Face Talcum and Body Talcum

I only have one OS brush or I would send one your way... maybe we can find you one sometime....i'll keep an eye out for one...

Okay...so technically this isn't my Birthday Shave. I wasn't able to get one in on Saturday, December 19th (the grandest day of them all) because of the whole watching of Danger Baby while the wife is Christmas Shopping thing. So I have a few minutes to myself today and thought it was time for that monthly shower thing that I hear is all the rage these days. Slipped in a shave also. Anyway...this would have been my birthday shave...so here it is!

Birthday shave today! Luckily my order of the new Dragon's Blood in the bamboo bowl arrived yesterday so I used it this morning. Love this soap! Great performance and scent. Finished with a splash of the matching aftershave tonic and a spray of John Varvatos EdT.

Birthday shave was with B&M Franky My Pear love the scent and slickness truly impressed with it and matching balm. Would be nice if Will makes Aftershave splash but I used Swiss Pitralon Happy2
Haven’t tried Asian Pear to Compare but in near future I would love too.
