My wife and I used to go to conventions like DragonCon and I wore a kilt quite a bit there.. I have my family tartans and some sport kilts. I have probably 6 or 8 different kilts and tradition states that if someone wanted to know if you went traditional or regimental they had to reach under to find out for themselves.... That often got quite interesting.. Especially if it was one of the Female guest stars that wanted to know !! I have some fond memories of certain Sci-Fi stars checking.....

I wish kilts were more common place. I’d wear one around for sure, but not willing to take the bullet of social stigma.

Ok, I can see that helping... but in this day and age, you can wear whatever you want and people hardly notice. Wearing it confidently is the key.

I always wondered the same thing until I found out that my very English family fought along side Robert the Bruce. So we're allowed.
