Nice comparison video. One thing about the Gillette, its original price was $1.95. So that would cost about $20 today. The theory I’ve heard is that Gillette could eat the cost of the razor and make it up in blade sales, which Shane can’t do at Blackland, so who knows the actual production cost of the Fatboy. Could be more similar than we realize because we believe Gillette was using a loss leader model on the razor.

I know that before the Fatboy Moniker it was so named the Gillette 195, however that was MSRP. Some retailers and drug stores sold for more such as Woolworth’s @AvocadoQueen’s dad paid $2.59. And my $6 comment was a generalization, and as we all know, a NOS Fatboy such as this one can go for much more money, especially cased

This tool is slick - I like it. As a 14 year old USCG brat, I would buy record albums for $2.75 (at Navy Exchange) in 1971; now would cost $20.90 each, or more than a typical CD. So music is actually cheaper now (?). That's a surprise.

Interesting to learn what people were actually paying, all the info I’ve seen quotes that $1.95 price as gospel.

Absolutely! These days they easily fetch prices into the $150 or more range.

Is someone going to tell Bruce that for the most part CDs are also a thing of the past?
