The perfect shave after a HOBO day, and in Celebration of our Live Drink-N-Daves Show tonight with Guess @heysi and we are doing a beer tasting. Anyway the Smoky Whisky cigary leathery goodness of all the player today was FANTASTIC. We even let the Nivea Deep bring some Bourbon ( Blech ) and Vanilla into the mix. Quickly overshadowed by the CBL DnD aftershave and the beautifully crafted Islay from Floris.

This is and continues to be a Top Pocket shave

Fantastic shave before heading to the shop. This to me, is the best barbershop fragrance that i have tried. Lather duty was the Corleone, and removal by the Black Beauty. A DSBBS shave

Out of the archives and unobtanium as far as the soap and aftershave Penhaligons Bayolea

The easy aces provided a very nice shave on whisker removal and the Morris & Forndran. Provided a very nice ladder. This fragrance is an old-school take on an old-fashioned barbershop. Very lavender heavy but beautiful.

A very nice DSBBS shave to start a very Chilly and Rainy Sunday. Cleared nice overnight and we are looking at Temps in the 50's today. A far cry from our freinds to the NorthEast and south. Summit Trail with it's Pine, Cedar, Fir, and Dirt is a wonderfully fragrant offering from Adopted Acres. the after shave to match bumps it up a notch as well. Finished off with the normal cast of characters and the final Touch being the 80's Green Powerhouse of TSAR

Well... No shave yesterday, as yet again, another water leak at the washer, this time the cold... so another day of fixes and finally today we have water again, after @AvocadoQueen did the DIY thing and re-piped. Whereas I would have called a plumber, she wanted to do it, and admittedly we saved close to between 800-1500 bucks.

So she wins again.......Anyway just superb shave today with the mixing of THB and CBL. It was a fantastic shave and great to find a long unobtanium container of @CBLindsay 's Cherry Blossom Bamboo. Mixed the two. bowl lather (which I hardly do) and it turned out to be a perfect mashup

3-passes with the Hayashi and DSBBS. A splash of the THB Bamboo and off to the races

Good on @AvocadoQueen for getting your plumbing back in order…er, that doesn’t sound right but you know what I mean. Definitely saved you some cash. I had one of my old Boy Scouts come out to do some basic repairs I didn’t want to deal with and I ended up having him address the immediate issue at $400 vs replacing any valves as he was asking $1200 per valve (he’s employed by someone else so he doesn’t set the price). Just recently I replaced my pressure regulator for $140, they wanted $500 and it was literally a direct drop in. I’m all for paying the pros to do what I can’t or won’t do but I really like spending money on more fun stuff.

Well.... It begins, and I am hating @Spider right now, but he is a good friend, and as an owner of the Forum, we must support our members, even though they are MAD! Each and every year the diabolic KJ comes up with these challenges, and I will take part in them occasionally. This year, not only did I decide to do the Williams Shave Soap Challenge, but I foolishly decided to ramp it up a bit, and use all the same stuff for the entire time the puck lasts...

Yes we will de demonstrating what the CRAZY Minimalists do EVERY DAY! I know, nuts huh?

Anyway I know the shaves will be good, and for a few days OK..... but then BOREDOM will set in, the excitement of a daily shave will wane, it will become a chore, and I will descend into madness, to the point where I will be sitting in a beanbag chair, in a white t-shirt eating cheetos (the Jalapeno Cheddar of course) , and questioning life Choices

The last time I did this, I believe it was 28 days, however, again in a moment of stupor, I decided to also place any left over lather back in the container to obviously prolong my sadness.......

Today's shave was nice, new and fresh....... I am afraid that will be ending soon...

02.02.2026 - Day #2 of Williams Captivity

Well, Thankfully the Decent into madness and my captivity with Williams was given a bit of a delay today, as I had to head to the shop today to do some deep cleaning while my shears were being sharpened. Did a bit of honing on the shop razors as well. After that is was "Barber Errand Day" to the Bank, Pro Shop, and also getting a ring of mine inspected, cleaned, and have the finish updated a bit. That shop is on the other side of town, Sharon had a Migraine so it was a solo, non-date, day. Found a nice Vietnamese / Chinese Restaurant next door to the Jewelry store, and had a nice meal of Gui Cwon Tom Thit ( fresh Spring Rolls with Shrimp & Pork with Peanut Sauce ), and Bun Tom Thit Nuong ( Cold Rice Vermacelli Noodles with Grilled Charred Pork and Shrimp with Cabbage, Carrots and a host of other Veggies) A nice cool salad. Outstanding! Who knew a little fast food looking joint in a strip mall could be so good.

Anyway, after that off to get fuel for the Jeep, and back over to my side of town ( it should be noted Tucson is REALLY spread out and is about 50-miles across, and I was at the eastern end of town and had to head back past the city limits to the Grocery Store, for my weekly lunch shopping. Once done, back to the Ranch and dinner


After dinner, I contemplated breaking the chains of captivity and note shaving since it was already after 6:30, but that would not be right to bail on the Williams Channel, and might gain me a visit from the Cadre Constable @Spider

So a quick 3-pass shave DSBBS blah blah blah...... Already getting bored with this stuff, but will struggle on, LOL. did not even get a chance to do a vid today.....
