BarberDave's Shaveapalooza

Shave soap should never be relegated to shower duty. That is such a horrible thing to do. It you gave it the attention it craves for 2 weeks straight, you might be amazed at how some of these turds turn out. Yeah, that's it. "2 weeks with a Turd" should be your next undertaking with EACH of them.

That is a very diabolical thing to suggest😱

Ummm nope, never aint gonna happen. Nyet,

Nice video Dave! I was thinking that one might be decent until it started to dissipate within seconds of applying. It's crazy that these are the turds because when I first got into this hobby there were a lot of people on a different forum that spoke highly of these companies. And also Tabac, Williams, Arko, and Cella.

True, but Tabac, Williams, Arko, Cella are all good performing soaps and all but Cella I still have, SAd about Cella it just does not react well with my face LOL

I have not tried Cella, Tabac, Arko, or Williams yet. I think it is a rebellious thing with me. At the forum I first joined anytime I asked about a known artisan I would always get bombarded by guys saying I only needed to use Arko, Tabac, Williams, or Cella.

hmmm I wonder where that was HEHE

Those soaps are the like the Detroit cars of the 70's. Tabac and Cella will always be in my rotation. The others will not. But there are so many options for us to use. It's like shopping a 300 yard long cereal Aisle. I highly recommend to anyone. Get in on the next Soap Sample Pass Around. Literally 100+ samples for $13 to ship it (package) to the next guy. Beyond a bargain. It probably should be illegal it's such a awesome deal.

Me either. No interest.
Boo. You should try Tabac and Cella at the very least. They are both excellent soaps that are easy to lather and give great results. I think Arko is great just a bit on the dry side post shave. Modern Williams is a pain, but once you dial it in the performance is stellar. You are missing out on some really great soap.

I second this message. Tabac and Cella are very good. Cella smells great and performs really well.

Day 4
Titan Turd Shave Soap Shootout
English Fern
Admittedly some bias here as I love this fragrance, however the soap is really a crap shoot each time used, which allowed it in these hallowed halls of Soap feces. Hard to lather, harder to get the water right, and very easy to break. A fine line is danced from getting a decent shave, or a total disaster, as if this soap has a mind of its own. Notthing like its big bother tallow version this is a products of cost cutting, 3rd party manufacturing and mass production. All of which failed in this case, as it and all English Fern items are now scuttled, as the new generation of shave buyers want modern scents reminicent of Axe body spray, but allows their egos to say "I am sophisticated and buy good stuff"

Anyway, I got lucky today and the lather was decent in comparison to the other players. Still drying, still no cushion really to speak of, but better and was able to use a bit more agressive razor in the Aristocrat.

One more shave in this shootout, and it is to see if any of them can compete with DAWN dish washing liquid. Stay Tuned!

Final results posted Sunday.
