Old School Throwback Shave
Thursday December 27, 2018

Razor: Yuma
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (15)

Brush: Burma Shave Boar (My 1st Brush from 1980)

Soap: Williams Tonsorial

Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla
Aftershave 2: Vintage Old Spice
So I had been wanting to revisit the Tonsorial Williams in my mug.(used a Pif'd Soap and box from KJ for the pic) No blooming and a 20 second load yielded plenty of lather for my 3 pass shave although I should have loaded more. Used my 1st brush I ever purchased back in 1979/80 and is still going strong. Also my Yuma razor bought from Best Shave back in the day for IIRC $2.98. Still have a Brand New backup but going to start a poll to see if there is any interest to pass it around to try this piece of history that raised a lot of interest years ago. Topped things off with the Vintage (Bought back when I got the brush) Old Spice used sparingly to see if I still get a headache or can keep as I do love the scent. Short work day for me but can't do the jobs til this afternoon/evening. Bright spot is Friday I'll be off !!! Have an awesome day Cadre !!

Friday's Off are a treat! You can smuggly observe the rest of the rats in the race and have the satisfaction of knowing that you are not one of them. Or you can just sleep in!

I love the throwback shave!

Splitting headache at the moment. Hope it passes soon, Washed face of the Old Spice and GTB aftershave applied to rescue hopefully. Don't know why get this reaction even with a small amount when I used it for years before and never a problem. Oh well...................................

That brush looks pretty dang broken in. Bummer products have been causing so many problems.

Whats the story behind that razor? Really nice. Please expand on how it performs to your others.
\nNot a lot to say about it. Covered the basicsbas a poll startedsin the General Shaving Discussion area. Go vote so KJ doesn\'t win by default. I\'m going to pass it around to whoever wants to try it and when everyone is done a random number generator will tell the last person with it who won and where he will ship it.

Sorry Dave, I’m late to the party. Really cool throwback shave. I’ll have to go over to the poll you set up and check out the details on it. Bummer about the Old Spice, but as was mentioned before, I don't think you’ll have a hard time getting rid of it. It is weird that you used it for so long with no issues and now all of a sudden it’s headache city.

Thanks Steve. No worries. The set of Vintage Old Spice Talc, Aftershave and Cologne Set will be in an Auction I'm going to get posted up tomorrow. I received approval from the Head Honchos here. Winner will be making payment directly to the Cadre Donation page. So watch for it hopefully post it tomorrow with maybe some other items included to sweeten the bidding. Everyone ready for an Auction ??
