Chad's adventures of shaving, officiating, and life

Great shaves Chad! I’m really surprised with quality of the Shark blade.

Sounds like a fun trip for the family! Airfare really does kill you. The wife and I go to Clearwater, FL every year for Phillies Spring Training. Our airfare is usually about half of the total cost of the trip. It’s insane!
You can always drive down 95 ?

Cost aside, that sounds like fun.

I think it will be.

Great set-up, Chad. I've actually used a couple of Shark blades recently - both the Stainless, and the Chrome. I had good shaves with both. Not the sharpest, but certainly not the dullest; and not the smoothest, but certainly not the harshest. They were serviceable. If I had to pick which I'd prefer, it would be the Chrome version. But I wouldn't go and buy 100 pack. But on the road, a 5 pack is workable.

A trip to Disneyland sounds great! I haven't been to Disneyland since either 1976 or 1977 (can't remember which). We've gone to Disney World the last couple of years due to geography. But I'd love to go back to Anaheim again one day soon, just for old time sake.

I have only been to Disney world once. We will take the kids there when they are older. Disneyland is a bit closer so easier to plan.

The Shark Blade confused me also. But it works!

I know if you pay close attention good airfare can be had. So I am just trying to monitor it for a couple weeks. Hope I don't end up hurting myself and have to spend more though.

Razor: Timeless Razor
Blade: Sputnik (1)
Soap/cream: CBL Tobacco and Caramel
Brush: Razorock Barrel Brush
Aftershave1: Humphrey's Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: British Sterling
Cologne: British Sterling

So today was another bad balde series shave. This time with the Sputnik blade. Honestly not sure why this blade was labeled as bad. Because it is not. You can read more on that in my bad blade series.

Today was new soap day as well. Using the Tobacco and Caramel from CBL. What a fun scent, nice green tobacco coupled with the sweetness of the caramel. This is an awesome scent! It paired well with the British Sterling which is a nice cold weather scent that I like to use this time of year.

All in all a great shave.

Homefront:

Well the game yesterday went well. Really enjoyed it. It was a very clean game with a very low foul count. At the end of the game we realized we didn't even call 1 offensive foul, which I think is a first for me. Today should be a more relaxing day. And tomorrow is a friend of Connor's birthday party. My wife and I are trying to see who is going to Chuck E Cheese. I wonder who will win.

Have a good day cadre

Well, looked and it's out of stock anyway...............AND Chris has some garbage about closing for a little. Probably some useless excuse about a vacation or family or something ?

I've been wondering about that Tobacco & Caramel scent. Sounds interesting.

Great scent perfect winter scent in my opinion.

I was tempted by the Tobacco & Caramel scent but ran out of available funds when placing my order recently. Nice Chad

Uh huh!

You didn't try hard enough lol

Razor: Timeless Razor
Blade: Sputnik (2)
Soap/cream: CBL Ghost Banana
Brush: TSC Legacy Brush
Aftershave1: Humphrey's Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: Aqua Velva Balm

Well today was another great shave. Today with the CBL Ghost Banana I know some of the cadre don't like Banana as a scent but i'm telling you it's nice. It was a fantastic shave. The Sputnik blade is supposed to be in my bad blade series, well it is secretly becoming one of the best blades I have ever used.

Homefront:

Woke up this morning looked outside and couldn't see any of the neighboring houses. The fog has settled in and it was COLD outside too. That made for a fun drive into work this early morning at 5:30AM. Tonight I am taking Connor to a birthday party. Megan has some excuse of staying home to do homework! What garbage is that?

Well the referee shortage in Utah is real, I was assigned a double header on Saturday a JV and varsity game because they had to move some games because not enough officials available on Friday. I think the real reason is a lot of guys (myself included) blocked Friday so they could watch the PAC12 Chamionship game! GO UTES!!!

Score on more ref time, sweet!

Youre making the Sputniks sound pretty good...did you say they have wax dots?

Sure rub in the fact you have Ghost Banana.........Chris, when you releasing this?
Mental note made...I'll make sure you get some ghost banana and perhaps even some tobacco and caramel (I have to confirm I have some fragrance oil left)

I will admit, ghost banana is as good as it sounds. Maybe I should mix banana and pineapple cilantro...

That's a pleasant surprise.

They certainly have been.

What? You don't like skee-ball?

I played a little bit. But Connor wanted me to do basketball. Then I had all the little kids sitting around me, while I hit 15 shots in a row. Then one of the moms was like WOW you are good. Well I do have a background in basketball LOL, I played in high school, I coached for 6 years, and I officiate. If I didn't get hurt in high school I would have been able to play in college as I had one offer to where I graduated with my Undergrad at Westminster College a small div 3 school. Man what could have been. Oh well. It was pretty funny though having a bunch of 4 and 5 year olds cheering me on LOL.

Sure rub in the fact you have Ghost Banana.........Chris, when you releasing this?

I will buy more if it is made. And him mentioning the Banana, Pineapple, Cilantro combo that sounds AWESOME!

Score on more ref time, sweet!

Youre making the Sputniks sound pretty good...did you say they have wax dots?

Yes they do have wax dots, the way I remove them is run under hot water, then pat dry on towel before loading first time. Always removes the dots.

Great stuff, Chad. Hmmm...Sputnik blades...

Worth a try

GO UTES

Razor: Parker Variant
Blade: Sputnik (3)
Soap/cream: CBL Wood sage and Sea Salt
Brush: Envy Shave Ute Brush
Aftershave1: Humphrey's Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: Aqua Velva Ice Sport

Well today was another fantastic shave with the Wood Sage and Sea Salt by CBL. This is a very nice woodsy scent, that actually reminds a bit of Old Spice. I really like it a lot, but on the spicier side of things. Not sure if that is what Chris was going for, but it is in that wheelhouse in my opinion. The shave today went really well again with this "bad blade" that is really a good blade. But more on that in the Bad Blade Series. All in all a good shave.

It is here! the utes are in the PAC12 CHAMPIONSHIP GAME! Yea I know that it was technically a down year for the conference, but you aren't going to rain on my parade. Our head coach is 9-1 in bowl games. If the Utes find a way to win tonight I know that he can put in a good game plan to win the Rose Bowl. But first tonight's game! In my mind it is a Pick 'em. I hope the Utes win, but I won't be upset if they lose. This team only has 11 senior on scholarship! A lot of guys are back next year. This season was a warm up for what's to come. So everyone all together now GO UTES!!!!
