Chad's adventures of shaving, officiating, and life

To think of it...rosemary just about anything is a favorite of mine. Not sure why I am suggesting this in your thread...I need to wander on over to Chris' and say all these things!
Don, maybe you should suggest a combo of your two favorite (I assume) things.... Sandalwood and Rosemary!

Straight Shave #212

Razor: Feather SS Limey
Blade: Feather ProGuard (4)
Soap/cream: CBL Soap Club CBL
Brush: Stirling Finest Fan
Aftershave1: Humphrey's Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: Pinaud Clubman

Well today I grabbed another new CBL soap. This one the Club CBL, and this smells just like Clubman. It is awesome! OF course the performance is good, but that is to be expected at this point. The shave went without incident and I walked away with a very nice BBS+ shave. I did do a little cleanup with my Injectah again but not as much as yesterday.

Nothing crazy to report. Yesterday was an interesting day. After mass, we had to run to the pet store to buy cat food, dog food, and worms for the gecko. Typical zoo at the house. After that we headed over to a favorite burger joint for lunch. When we were getting done with the meal, Connor leaned in to me and said, "it's coming up." I said, "what?" because he whispered ya know. Then it happened! Throw up EVERYWHERE! Felt so bad for the little guy. What was weird is that before that he was acting normal, and after he was acting normal. The only thing we can attribute it to is that he over ate. He had a donut and chocolate milk at church then proceeded to eat his whole burger, french fries, and his strawberry lemonade. We kept a close eye on him the rest of the day and no fevers and he also kept all food down after that. So we are chalking it up to the over eating and letting him have a normal day today. The only thing that bothered me and I get it right, no one wants to see a kid throw up at a burger joint or ever really. But when the person who was cleaning tables walked by us saw what was happening and then turned around and walked away. Then proceeded to tell everyone at the counter and basically just laugh at us! I mean come on! First of all we don't take our kids out when they are sick and anyone with kids knows these things can just happen! Second why not offer us help? Instead we cleaned the whole thing up with napkins! However kudos to the troops who were on lunch break and came over for lunch in uniform 3 of the soldiers one female and two male helped us clean, distracted Sadie, and talked to Connor and made him feel better about it, he was clearly embarrassed. It is quite sad honestly because we really enjoy this burger joint. But not sure if we will be going back.

Anyways rant over! have a great day cadre!

First of all...I feel bad for the little guy. But these things do happen especially with young children. Their eyes are almost always bigger than their stomachs.

Secondly, that was really crappy about the establishment. I have seen stuff like this happen at other places and the staff of the restaurant would always clean up...without the ridicule. Yeah it sucks...but they should have stepped in.

Kudos to the guys and lady in uniform for helping out. As one who used to wear a uniform...this warms my heart to hear.

Oooooph I feel the curdling in my stomach right now following chocolate milk with lemonade.

I'd be writing a letter to the manager. That's ridiculous! Glad he's not sick. And yeah, that just happens sometimes. How sad for him, and for you all. Glad you found some good help through that!

Yikes! Sorry to hear about those types of things. Really throws a wrench in part of the day. And that service, ugh!

Having been in the customer service/janitorial industry for a while, I’ve seen and cleaned it all. I think you’d be surprised how ill prepared most establishments are for that kind of thing. Not just the actual cleaning, but the health hazard it represents.

\n\nThanks Don. Yea sadly it has happened to us once before at an Olive Garden (they handled it well) and I am sure it won\'t be our last time. These things sadly happen. Was very thankful to the soldiers who stepped in and were beyond polite. I would have gone up and bought them each a milkshake but didn\'t want to give the restaurant any more money. So a nice handshake and thankyou was all I gave.\n\n
But ya went out with style, Chad.\n\n
\n\nI sure did!\n\n

\n\nI actually didn\'t even consider that to be the possibility but now that you say it. That is probably what caused it. The lemonade and chocolate milk.\n\n

\n\nThanks KJ, and I believe my wife is writing the letter. She was pretty upset. I thought she was going to go on attack mode. But cooler heads prevailed.\n\n

\n\nYup I worked in a restaurant during college. They were prepared for it, and I did have to clean up a couple messes YUCK! But it had to be done.\n\n
Chris is always ready \n
\n\nI laughed LOL!

Okay well today I started a new series I am doing on the forum: Chad uses Bad Blades. You can find the series in the DE section of the forum. I will not be discussing the blades in depth here. So if you haven't seen that thread yet, head on over there and check it out.

Today I used the HeV CaCC and what a shave it was! I love this scent it is wonderful! I would recommend that if you have NOT tried this soap to at least pick up a sample. I used the vegan formula but they do make some tallow now. Not sure if this scent has gotten the tallow treatment yet though.

Overall the shave was okay I would classify it as SAS. I did get some irritation and nowhere near as close as I would like it. But this is for science!

Nothing crazy to report. Enjoyed a nice relaxing evening with the family and had breakfast for dinner! MMMM BACON!!

Have a great Day Cadre.

HeV Cognac and Cuban Cigars is a very nice soap. The scent is a little sweet BUT they made the scent strength just right so it isn't too sweet. I do like their tallow soap but honestly don't think they are so different one should be afraid to buy the veggie version in the scent they love.

Good stuff Chad. Swing through because I smelled BACON !!!

Thanks Dave!

I agree Chris. Not much of a difference between Tallow and Veg formulas for this company.

All caught up, Chad. Good stuff.

Thanks Chris!

Well today was the second use on the bad blade you can read my opinion on that in the DE section. I want to talk about the soap here! First the scent is awesome! Honestly this is the first soap where I want to eat it! But I didn't. The first pass I was kind of disappointed though... where's the cold?! subsequent passes it snuck up on me, but where it really came in was during my clean up before I applied aftershave! BOOM COLD! It really sneaks up on you. And I loved it! Post shave is just wonderful with this stuff which was needed after another rough go with this blade.
