TSC Watch List

I am enjoying my Speedy for a few days (weeks). It's hard to beat the aesthetics, build quality, and history of this timepiece.

Just as Foghorn Leghorn keeps his feathers numbered for emergencies, I retain a spare OEM bracelet in case of damage to the original during a lunar expedition. Micrometeoroids wreak havoc on polished bracelet links, not to mention the ionization risk posed by solar winds. If you know, you know.

Just gorgeous.

It’s okay @heysi, today the orange is in support of the Netherlands National Football Team

Funny....you don't look Netherlandish. Or like a supporter of any football teams. So I'm calling a foul....20 yard penalty and loss of a base. The opposing team (which is me) will now get a free throw from the blue line and get to hit an extra ball.

Look at you, talking like you know anything about pinball.

A bunch of folks really look down on homage watches however this is my third Steinhardt and I am a Rolex owner as well other than the use of 904 stainless steel in the Rolex this watch as far as quality have accuracy is every bit as good at about the 10th the price

In fact, this has as many Swiss parts as your modern Rolex because believe it or not even Rolex sources from the east

I love these

@heysi today we're cheering on the Rochester Institute of Technology. Go Tigers!!
I've officially come to the conclusion that no one on earth should root for the Giants....except for Panteha...she's awesome and can do no wrong. So just wear those colors in her honor.

You clearing aren't actually reading my posts and just skimming through them with a white-hot hatred that in no way can be healthy.

I like reading your take on homages, Dave - it's cool to see someone who has (from what I can tell on here) a lovely collection of very fine time pieces but doesn't look down his nose at some of the quality homages. The place where homages really hit me is in designs that the big brands no longer produce, so the only way to enjoy them is to source a very expense vintage version. I have a San Martin that is somewhat a homage to a Submariner...but the case design/crown etc is the early 60s aesthetic, which they no longer make...

I agree and I love watches for the love of horology
With the average price of a Rolex even on the used market being above 10,000 I’m glad I got mine when I did

Actually, the more I think about it I just wanted to add this. In my honest opinion, those folks that look down on homage watches, regardless of what brand they’re trying to give the homage to don’t really truly understand the love of watches to them. It’s about status and anybody that gives that argument, then oh a Rolex or an omega, they hold their value well the worst thing you can do is by a watch is an investment piece. That’s just stupid again in my opinion, watches should be loved for the love of watches. My collection ranges from 40 bucks to five figures but I love each and everyone on them.
Anyway, there’s my watch soap box
