What's blasting in your headphones?

So I don't know how to just explain it but I've been really getting into the "Dub" genre of electronic music. It's called things like Dub Techno, Deep Dub, Ambient Dub, and then similarly is Deep House. I greatly enjoy and love the overall chill vibe and atmosphere it creates, I enjoy listening when I'm relaxing or need to focus and don't want something chaotic or noisy, just a steady and relaxed tempo. Good for reading, work, and study at a lower volume. But I also enjoy listening in general with nothing to do but sit and think, ponder, let my mind wander a bit.

Another thing I like is the underground feel. You'll see me say that often but it just feels so natural and... made. It's not some big production or radio tailored bop, it's just this singular, self produced thing that you can listen to, from someone's soul it feels like at times.

Here's some YouTube links to give a listen to deep house and deep dub mixes. Even if you don't like it, it's an interesting listen. Deep House is more of a chill club dance tune, and Dub Techno is more atmospheric hangout/lounge type.

Gesus8 is great a making mixes and Playlist with a variety of artists. Good intro to Deep House

So Rheinkalk may have uploaded but I believe these sets in the Playlist are from DJ Sideways, who is a great Dub Techno/Deep Dub artist. Check this Playlist and any of the numbered ones are good to just start.

Been listening to my favorite artist again. If you like mixed genres and experimental music, I highly recommend Yves Tumor. His visuals can be offputting but the music is excellent to me. I'll post the albums to check out as he started as an Ambient musician and was very very weird for normal consumption. If you like Prince and David Bowie, this may be up your alley as a modern follow up.

He's been featured in other works and Has done a lot of collab singles too.

My favorite song of Yves and what's "Blasting in my headphones" at this moment

If you like this and get through the first 3 albums, you can try this one. It's a good bridge between his older Ambient work and his vocal work

Meet the BOOM BOOM SATELLITES, a Japanese "Mixed Genre" Electronic Duo that has been around since the 90s. I like listening to their older music, especially their first EP as their sound is a raw mix of underground drum and bass and free form jazz, with some elements of trance as they will use a long, repetitive drum loop with small samples mixed in. It has a pretty organic flow and energy

Listening for my morning "wake up" music.
