Great shave this morning. Returned to Castle Forbes and their excellent "Lime Essential Oil" shave cream. Fantastic true-lime scent with wonderful lather built with the MisticBrush synth for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '56 Gillette "Gold Tip" and I finished with alum, Quinn's Pink Grapefruit and Orange Rind witch hazel, ETHOS Grooming Essentials Custom Lime EO skin food splash and Taylor of Old Bond Street "No.74 Victorian Lime" EdC.

Closing out my workweek with a couple from English rockers, The Psychedelic Furs. Hope you enjoy.
Great shave this morning. New soap day with the arrival yesterday of "El Cantinero" soap and splash from Zingari Man. Fantastic tropical, cocktail-type scent with heavy notes of grapefruit along with boozy tequila and lime. Wonderfully thick and slick lather built with the Wild West Brushworks synth for two passes (plus touch-up) with the Timeless TRBR38 and I finished with alum, the matching aftershave serum and Creed "Virgin Island Water" EdP.
The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Better night's sleep last night. Gotta an 8 pound Boston butt I'll be prepping tonight to set on the smoker tomorrow.

Great shave this morning. Weather's been steadily getting warmer and so I've been reintroducing my summer soaps / creams back into rotation. Today I returned to Taylor of Old Bond Street and their excellent "Grapefruit" shave cream. Fantastic scent with super thick and slick lather built with the Rich Man Shaving ST badger brush for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '56 Gillette Super Speed and I finished with alum, Quinn's Pink Grapefruit and Orange Rind witch hazel, Master Soap Creations "Grapefruit Zest" aftershave splash and Pecksniff's Grapefruit and Citron talc .
The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Gonna be a rather dreary holiday weekend. Has been raining steadily for several hour and we're pretty much gonna have it throughout all next week.

First use of the new Floris No.89 shave soap this morning and it was wonderful! Fantastic old-school scent with superb lather built with the Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements "The Peregrino" synth ST badger brush for three passes with the '49 Gillette Executive and I finished with alum, Thayers cucumber witch hazel and the matching aftershave lotion, talc and EdT.
The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: The butt came out great yesterday. The wifey gave it two thumbs up but I think it could have been better.

Wonderful shave this morning. Found a bowl of Art of Shaving "Lemon" shaving soap in bowl at the local Marshalls for $10 some time ago and went ahead and picked it up. It was the newer version without tallow. I thought, even if it turns out to be crap, in the end I wasn't out a lot of money. Used it for the first time this morning and was pleasantly surprised with the high quality of lather it produced. Not much scent, but the lather made up for it. Two passes (plus touch-up) with the '58 Gillette Super Speed and I finished with alum, Quinn's Pink Grapefruit and Orange Rind witch hazel, Myrsol "Agua Di Limón" aftershave lotion, Pecksniff's "Grapefruit and Citron talc & Alvarez Gómez "Agua de Colonia Concentrada" EdC .

It's "Women of Rock Wednesday" and today I'm going with someone I only recently discovered. Her name is Madison McFerrin and she is the daughter of Bobby McFerrin (of "Don't Worry, Be Happy" fame). INCREDIBLE vocal talent! Her music is a cross between R&B, Hip Hop, Trip Hop, Acid Jazz and I can't get enough! Hope you enjoy.
Excellent shave this morning. Returned to ETHOS Grooming Essentials and Frank's excellent "Fresco" soap and splash. Wonderfully clean, crisp and soothing scent with notes of lime, basil and spearmint. Super thick and slick lather built with the Moon Soaps synth for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '56 Gillette "Gold Tip" and I finished with alum, Thayers cucumber witch hazel, the matching skin food splash, Pecksniff's "Grapefruit and Citron talc & Dior "Eau Sauvage" EdT.
