Also - Aug. 18, 2020 -- The COVID-19 pandemic has spread so rapidly since the first U.S. case was reported Jan. 20 that it’s now the third-leading cause of death in the country, Thomas Frieden, MD, former director of the CDC, told CNN.

"COVID is now the No. 3 cause of death in the U.S. -- ahead of accidents, injuries, lung disease, diabetes, Alzheimer's, and many, many other causes," Frieden said.

So to go from not existent to third leading cause of death puts COVID in a category no other disease or illness is in.
 
It is an ugly, UGLY disease/ illness. I didn't mean to sound callous, just trying to do my shtick.

I'm a GRATEFULLY retired nurse, not by choice, disability. I have restrictive lung disease. If I get this, I'm going to die. Or not, lol; I come from pretty strong stock!

But between my lungs and artificial mitral valve, a positive test result would be less than well received, ha!

As much as I had ALWAYS wanted to die disarming a bomb, the older I get the less likely it is to happen.

So I fall back on humor. I crack jokes or I cry. The older I get the easier it is to cry.

Hey! Knock that off! You're gonna get yer computer wet and electrocute yourself!!! And since this is a coronavirus thread, they will say it's another C-19 related death!!! Geez!

I obviously still have friends working the "front lines" on this disease.

Universal Precautions still apply. Wash yer flippin' hands! Don't pick yer nose!

Cadre the owners really DO NOT want to shut this thread down. We believe most of the conversation is healthy. So please before hitting post reply, follow this advice:

I don't trust the numbers, no one thinks they are accurate, I don't trust Frieden, he has an agenda that I can't discuss here, and obviously I don't trust CNN, because their only reason for being is because of their agenda that I can't discuss here.

We have been very patient but as of late, including multiple "suggestions" today, However, it seem the ship has seemed to have steered off course again. Let us be VERY CLEAR. This is NOT a right or left subject, not is it a Believer, non-believer thread. It is also not a Masks Good or Masks Bad. IT IS a thread for folks to share experiences, Numbers from their local communities, or more important levity about this situation. Frankly we do not give a Rat's Ass, what side of this Covid-19 issue you are on. What we do care about is RESPECTING the opinions of EVERYONE on this thread!

Jabs, negative comments or the rebuttal of opinions will not be Stood for, If you disagree fine, but DO NOT air it out here PERIOD! This is a FINAL warning to those that cannot seem to follow the intention of this thread, although we have made it VERY CLEAR Time and Time Again.

The ownership neither has the time or the continued patience to continue to babysit this thread for the decorum we not only expect from the members of the TSC, but DEMAND from this thread.

So here is what will happen from Now on. We will give posters on this thread one final chance to "do it right" and keep this thread open, as we feel it is very important to have this discussion, again, as long as we respect the opinions of EVERYONE, without making smart-ass, controversial, unsubstantiated, or agenda based remarks all to get a response. THE TSC and its owners will not and wont allow this forum or it's threads devolve, as have so many other forums. We have allowed this to stay open in the spirit of our
"Self Moderated" Creed, however some of you are not getting the hint and it STOPS NOW.

Here are your options:

1. Don't post here if you cannot be respectful of all posts and opinions
2. THINK OF OTHERS BEFORE YOU POST, and that means EVERYONE
3. LEAVE the TSC Voluntarily
4. BE BANNED PERMANENTLY

99.9 % of everyone who posts here does not fall into any of these categories, so to those members, our apologies. To the .1% YOU have been duly warned. We will not just ban you from this thread, but we will remove you from the TSC. No warning, no appeal. Does this get your attention NOW??
This thread is not about winning and argument, If that is what you are, or trying to do, as it appears to the TSC Ownership, or reported as such YOU LOSE.

I hope my last post of numbers wasn't a problem. I just thought it was humorous because I guess they got the numbers reversed. It was meant as humor and not as a stance. I personally take this virus seriously....... I hope everyone stays safe.
