Wildlife Photography in Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem

I used to live just in the other side of the Beartooth Pass in Red Lodge. Here are some of my old pics of that area.View attachment 141422
Another view of Vista Point where the chipmunks are.

A cow moose scaring another away from its calves(they are around the fence) in my old neighborhood.

Then a couple of years ago, we went back and did a winter tour of the park.View attachment 141425View attachment 141426View attachment 141427
Oh Quijote, these are wonderful! Nothing quite like winter in the Absarokas. Luckily, plenty of snow still around in June, as you know. We go lunting for mountain goats and bighorn sheep. My son has fallen in love with yellow bellied marmots and my partner is always trying to find pika.

If you know any secret sure things for spotting big bull moose and you're willing to share, please DM me. We have yet to find a fairly consistent place to find moose.

Finding moose was always hit or miss. They were almost always near the creek though. When we were in West Yellowstone a few years ago, we were driving down Hwy 20 to say that we had been to Idaho and we saw a lot of bighorn sheep. They were just running down the road. The pictures aren't great due to being in a moving car.IMG_20210214_104343.jpgIMG_20210214_104428.jpg
