1898 Patent December 27 Gem Cutlery Lather Catcher wedge blade. Need wedge adapter to use standard Gem single edge blades or use wedge blade I just acquired for it. Need to fix latch so it doesn’t fall off when blade not installed

I have a few lather catchers from around that time. The patent date on the razor, doesn’t mean that’s the year it was made, could have been several years later. There’s not really a good way to date them other than saying they could be that old.

That's why I stated yhe patent date , don't think I stated actually date. Yes not really sure of it's date, but since it goes have a blade like a piece of straight razor, probably close to patent date eould be my guess

My oldest is an Ashton & Jackson straight razor from England from around 1862ish. This date is based on the death of one of the owners and a subsequent name change of the company.
