Vintage Soaps Arrival Part 1

Got a couple of vintage soaps in the mail this week. This first one is a NOS puck of Wrisley "Saddle Club":

Very cool. I have a NOS Wrisley saddle club too. Well is WAS new until I used it. Not as special as the Yardley but am Excelent experience none the less.

Thanks, Gents. This puck is quite dry and almost crumbly. Should I give it some long hydration/soak? Or just bloom it and go?

I have never done more than a simple pre-bloom the night before I use the soap. A sprinkling of water just on the surface the night before and again 10 minutes before use. I usually finish my bowls before using the soap if the wood is very bad. Especially If the puck is easy to remove. After I use the soap I wipe the bowl clean and leave it inverted on a rag to let excess water drip out.
