Now that my life is settling back into a more normal rhythm from such upheaval, I'm glad I can honor promises and obligations.
This Flake Tobacco Bowl and Pipe Tamper I've made in my workshop for a particular barber in the Arizona desert southwest. He has gone out of his way to help me get started well as a straight razor shaver, and answered my questions both privately and publicly. He even dedicated several YouTube videos to help me out. These two pieces are a small way of saying thank you to a kind and generous man.
The Flake Bowl I turned from California Redwood Burl, then wearhered and textured the piece to resemble the craggy, dry earth and rock he loves so much. The Pipe Tamper is made of Rosewood and Macassar Ebony and I included an internal pick tool of brass.
