Triple Milled Soaps

I've tried the following:

Arko - I'm surprised to hear that this is triple milled. TM soaps are usually very hard. Arko is moldable like clay.
Art of shaving (Tallow) - Probably one of the creamiest modern soaps I've tried.
De Vergulde Hand - tried it in a passaround, only had a couple shaves.
Edwin Jagger - meh
Geo.F. Trumper - meh
Haslinger - was good, but I ended up getting rid of all of mine
L'Occitane - Great scent (cade), but performance, meh.
Lea - meh
MWF - worst soap ever made, to me. Doesn't lather well at all.
Old Spice - One of the finest, creamiest, softest lathering soaps ever made.
Palmolive Stick - meh
Pre de Provence - Grest scent (No 63) performance is good, soft feeling lather.
Saponificio Varesino - One of the better modern soaps, but performance isn't near tops for me.
Tabac - Scent great, but soap performance lackluster. Not cushiony, and dries out face.
Valobra - was ok, but not worth keeping.
Williams (vintage) - Same as Old Spice, one of the best!
Williams (modern) - almost as good as vintage.

Overall, I'm not really a fan. To me, modern artisan soaps are far better.

What have I tried? My list is pretty short.

Arko - smells like citronella to me.
Tabac - smells like my grandma (well, not anymore, she passed quite a few years ago)
La Toja stick (not on the list up there but seems hard enough to be triple milled)

I also have some tallow Haslinger and a modern Williams, just haven't used them.

I am currently trying to kill my Tabac. It seems to be living forever though. I love its performance.

Updated, if anyone finds other soaps not on this list that should be, lets add them to the list for posterity.

A lot of love is given to our artisans during this, the modern era of wet shaving and might I say, deservedly so. Though, in the before-fore times(the dark ages), most of us(@BarberDave and a few others) only had tried and trusted Triple Milled soaps on hand when we first started out. By 2015 many artisans started to pop up each year and by the end of the 2010's the artisan had taken prominence in the shaving communities as the soaps of choice. There have likely been 100's of artisans that have come and gone in the last few years, but many of the old dogs still exist. These soaps are loved for their longevity, classic scents, and history, but many have fallen to progress and market demands.

The list below are some of the known Triple Milled Shaving Soaps, some are available today while others are discontinued and are only available in old stock.

How many of these have you tried?? What is your favorite Triple Milled Soap?

This list was compiled by another gentleman, A long time ago forum far far away with some of my own edits. If you have updates to this list, by all means add them.
I high-lighted the triple-milled soaps I have used and...still do.
Let's add
I Coloniali
Figaro Sapone Speciale
Ralph Lauren Safari

to the list.

I didn't know half of these were triple milled soaps. I've used the following from the list:

MWF
PdP
Haslinger
Fine
Arko
Williams
Palmolive Stick

...as well as Razorock What the Puck (which may be quad milled?).

Fine and Arko performed the best for me, with Fine obviously getting the nod for scent (Lavender Pour Homme). Razorock (Blue Barbershop) would also rank up there, if it's actually triple milled.

What I have tried:

Arko- I am firmly in the ‘urinal puck‘ camp. Urinal pucks are moister, though..
Crabtree & Evelyn (vintage)- worst reformulation ever
Fine- Some of my favourite lathers (and scents)
Haslinger- Only have tried the Schafmilch. Like it
Old Spice- just got a NOS puck. Need to try it ASAP
Palmolive Stick- A fave for travelling
Saponificio Varesino- Some of my favourite lathers (and scents)
Tabac- Quality lather...a scent like ‘old certs in the bottom of an old lady’s (who chain smokes) purse.
Valobra- Had the Fougere.Good lather, not much for scent.

I am a fan of 3x milled picks in general, for sure!

I thought Speick Stick was considered to be a triple milled soap?

It seems to have a similar hardness to Derby and Palmolive sticks to me.

Damn!

Whenever I use Arko I scatter some cigarette butts in the sink for full effect. Sometimes a toothpick. For special occasions, graffiti.
I had to do some googling and I’ve only seen it in a few spots, but the German tallow version is not triple milled, but the Australian veggie version is? This could do with more research…

The few triple milled soaps I have used are:

Modern Williams
Vintage Williams
Vintage Colgate
Razorock What the Puck; Gold, Green, Black, and Blue.

I prefer the modern Wiliams to the vintage Williams and Colgate due the fresh scent v no scent or musty scent. The Razorock soaps lather nicely, are slick, and come in nice scents. When on sale, four pucks/3.5 oz each, for $10, (which is often) these soaps are in Williams price territory. I recommend giving these a try.

I have used a lot of triple milled soaps but tend to not reach for them as much as artisan soaps. Here are a few thoughts:

SV- nice lather with high class scents
Ach Brito Mogno- newer triple milled soap, fantastic scent & performance to match

Musgo Real- one of my favorite triple mill. The scent is slightly different from the cream yet very nice classic scent.

MWF- had a puck of this but sold it since it wasn't getting much love

LEA Hard Puck- this soap is a chameleon it started out decent for some weird reason but every other shave has been mediocre at best.

AOS Sandlawood Tallow- classic Clay Sandalwood scent excellent lather

Klar Kabinett- slightly rosy soapy scent

SDM- much like MWF both scent & performance

Provence Sante- only tried it 1x so far but that will change soon.

PDP 63- great scent but average lather

Fine Soaps- older formula great stuff

Tabac- +1

Razorock WTP Triple Milled- absolutely love the Gold, Black, and Green fantastic performance, scents and value.

Wilkinson Sword Stick- light fresh soapy scent

Godrej Shaving Round- nice and inexpensive, worth trying IMO

Speick Stick- decent product

A few vintage soaps as well:

Vintage Williams
Vintage Palmolive Puck
Vintage Royal London- best Vintage IMO
Vintage Wrisley
Vintage Aramis
Vintage Yardley- both the wooden bowl as well as the stick perform great

Triple-milled shave soaps in my inventory:
D. R. Harris - Marlborough: My very 1st shave soap! Still use in in my regular rotation.
Saponificio Varesino: Sample sets (thanks to @BarberDave)! Once I am through exploring all the samples, I WILL be adding at least one of these to my "collection"!

All of my other shave soaps are artisan, softer soaps from the likes of ETHOS Grooming Essentials, Lisa's Natural Herbal Creations, Barrister & Mann, and Zingari Man (just to name a few of my favs)!

My list is kinda short.

Arko
Art of shaving
Fine accoutrements (Original pucks, discontinued)
Haslinger
Lea
MWF
Saponificio Varesino
Tabac
Taylor of Old Bond Street
Williams

My favorite is Tabac (and Fine, since they are the same soap base) followed closely MWF.

SV is good. LEA Classic was excellent. TOBS was a disappointment. Haslinger (tallow) was also disappointing. Arko was great. Williams (vintage and modern) is very good.

There are a few on this list that I have in my soap stash, but haven't given a try yet. I am looking forward to them. The more that I use modern soft artisan soaps, the more I like these old-school products.
