The Mystery Traveling Box
I have been a participant in many Traveling boxes over the years, on a couple of forums, and they are always lots of fun. This will be the first (of I hope many) traveling boxes on The Shaving Cadre.
What is a Traveling Box?
Basically, you will receive a Large Flat Rate box full of Shaving Stuff (other items of interest like pens, knives, etc. are allowed). You will be able to hold onto the box for One Week. In which time you may sample the items and try them out. Any items that you wish to keep from the box, you will pull out, and then you will replenish the box with items of your choosing, before sending it out to the next person on the list. Each recipient will be responsible for paying the Priority Flat Rate shipping charges to the next person on the list. (About $20)
For the most part, you will not get the value of the shipping price out of the box. This opportunity to participate in the box is more about trying new things and thinning your den of items that you were likely to PIF or Sell anyway.
What’s The Mystery?
The contents of the box will remain a mystery and be a complete surprise until you receive the box. Photographs of the box contents or anything added to the box are not allowed in this thread. (Except for what you take out!)
This is a new spin on the Traveling Box that I have not seen before, and hope adds to the excitement and anticipation of receiving the box.
Want to Participate?
1) Agree to the rules posted below, and add your name to the list of participants.
2) After you sign up, send a PM to Spider with your Name, Address, Phone Number, and email address.
Looking for around 10 people to sign up, but the more the merrier! New members can be added to the list at any time. If this is enjoyable, and you want to receive the box again, we can consider a second go-around after the box returns home to Spider. This is not an officially sanctioned event from The Shaving Cadre or it's owners. Join this traveling box at your own risk and agree to not hold The Shaving Cadre or it's owners responsible for anything that happens regarding this box.
The Rules:
1) When you get the box, post in this thread that you have received it.
2) Send a PM to the next person on the list and ask for their shipping info. Let them know when you anticipate shipping the box to ensure they will be available to receive it. If we need to rearrange the list to accommodate work/travel schedules, that is no problem. Please include Spider on all correspondence between members regarding the box and its shipping.
3) Keep the box no longer than one week.
4) Take from the box what you want (no limit), put stuff back in (of relatively equal quantity/value). This is not something that will be tracked or monitored. I know with the generous spirit of the cadre members, there is nothing to worry about here.
5) Liquids must be in sealed Zip-Lock bags and their lids taped shut. Glass bottles/items must be wrapped in at least one layer of Bubble wrap, and then put in a Zip-Lock bag.
6) Take a picture of all the items you took to keep, and share in this thread.
7) Take a picture of all items you are adding to the box, and PM to Spider. (Again, I’m not keeping tabs on your takes vs adds, I just want an idea of where stuff came from in case any questions arise later regarding a specific item).
8) Ship the box to the next person on the list and PM the tracking info to them (and Spider).
9) Direct any questions to Spider.
