The 5th Annual Williams Mug Soap 3017 Challenge!

The Williams Bicentennial Mug was something you mailed in to receive from specially marked boxes of Williams from 1976-1977. It's made of Armetale. It's similar to Pewter, but has no lead, so it's food safe.

23 I’m starting to get very motivated to end this puck. The captains choice bowl is a pretty good tool to facilitate just that. While still capable of giving a decent shave, at 27 the Gillette platinum is noticeably diminished. Only by short strokes can I avoid tugging. Feels like another blade I recall from a long time ago, but that blade started out this way. I still think I can get a couple more shaves though.

This is one (well two) of my favorite Williams pieces. Canadian made Williams milk glass mugs. Pretty rare in the US. The first one I received in a trade from someone in Canada that had 3 of them. The second one (in original box) I, remarkably, found at an estate sale in rural Missouri (about 20 minutes from my house). What the heck are the odds of me finding that? There was no other shaving stuff at the sale either.

24 I think we are entering the home stretch! And I’m pretty sure we’re going to make it to 30 on the Platinum. Still there was some discomfort of the neckle area.

25 usung a fortress prison metaphor, “the wall has been breached. I don’t think the puck will last past tomorrow. For my channel I’m pivoting back to history stuff, and serendipitously enough, tomorrow marks the date the British evacuated Boston after a long siege (April 12 1775 - 17 March 1776)
The Gillette Platinum is at 29 shaves. While I had experienced some tugging in the last shave, I discovered I can avoid it by simply slowing down! That opens the door to more shaves if I was so inclined.

How many of us are hoping and wishing that on Dave's final William's shave report that he ends his post with "even though I complained the entire way through this challenge....really I encourage everyone to try this shave soap....its a joy to lather and its a part of our shave history....I personally endorse stepping outside our comfort zone to learn and grow as shavers and humans. My derogatory comments toward anyone that has a different style or method than myself is not meant as an attack....but all just in good fun. I'm really a great guy but I'm cranky when I don't get to be all ADD with my shave gear.....Really I'm a peach of a guy......Now I'm going to burn an innocent box in the name of silliness."?

For the pain it brings, its a part of our shave history....I personally DO NOT endorse stepping outside our comfort zone to learn and grow as shavers and humans. My derogatory comments toward anyone that has a different style or method than myself are valid...but all just in good fun.
