Excited to see 10 people signed up for the challenge, especially since I didn't give you much lead time. Happy to see so many that have a puck or two (or more) in their den. This is the one time of the year that I bust the Williams out, and am always happy to do so. Always a great shave!

Happy Monday everyone!

First use of Williams in a long time and I’m experimenting to find the best lathering technique for me. Today, I treated the puck as a shave stick. I dipped the puck in hot water and liberally applied product to my face, then face lather with a Stirling Kong. I got a pretty ok lather and coupled with a Gillette Slim and Aqua Velva Ice Sport got a pretty good shave. I think I can improve the lather as I did get some irritation from my alum block. Being this is a modern Williams, I’m prepared to wrestle a bit. But I’ve wrestled with Eucris so I’m no scared.

I didn't add my name to the offial participant list but so far this month I have only used Williams. I have an parially used puck of unknown vintage that i dug out and put in my turkish copper bowl. This particlar puck has aged to a fine yellow and yields a fantastic lather with minimal effort. Unlike the newer stuff that works best (for me) when it has been soaked in hot water first, this stuff required NO particular effort or special treatment. It loaded as qucikly as Martin D Candre and produced an excelent vintage quality lather. I don't know how many use this puck has had but it looks to be 1/4 to 1/3 used based on the size of what is left.
I think @Majorrich had the right idea, paring with a vintage bottle of Aqua Velva seems to be the right thing to do. I shaved with the Weck safety razor loaded with a Fromm blade with at least a doezen shaves on it and got a straight razor waulity finish. I think I could stretch this blade throught the month (thus completing the one blade challenge as well) but I might swap it out for a fresh one THEN go for a one blade month.
