Have a tuck of the Premiums but haven't tried yet. I will eventually but Pol Silver and GSB are the top of the heap for me so you and I are at different likes apparently when it comes to blades...

I bought five Premium blades when they came out and I thought they shaved worse than the regular Derby blades. Polsilver & GSB are great, but I rate the Platinum & the Rubie a half rung above even those. YMMV.

Love my I2 and E Injectors (y)

Yes, I have an I2 and an E2 and it's patently obvious that the injector razor is simply a better "mousetrap" than the DE razor. ;)

Agreed, I haven't tried the Platinum but have 100 of the Rubie and they are sharper while still smooth for me (y)

Aaron, incredible as it may sound I am getting fantastic shaves using the Dollar Tree ($1.00 of course) Chinese Assured TTO razor. Naturally, I am using different blades than the tuck of "box cutter" grade that are included with the razor in the pckg. It's made of "mystery" metal and the silo doors are thinner than Kleenex, but damn does this lil' bugger shave sweet!! It shaves just as good as the Baili Tech clone I have. Color me shocked. :giggle:

I have an idea. Get rid of that pair of sock with a hole in the toe that you keep fro emergencies. Then you have space to keep 2 more razors!

Timeless - day 4 I think?

Not much to report, other than I got a little careless and drew blood for the first time with the Timeless. I guess that's actually a drawback of a super smooth and mild razor. It's so mindless that sometimes I lose focus and do something dumb.

Today I used another of the goodies that @NurseDave sent, the older formula of @LNHC, Tobacco and Amber scent. I actually like it better than the new formula, but it burned a little, so it will be PIFed. I'll have to try another scent; I can't imagine any of the soap base ingredients being the problem. That's only the second soap I've ever had a reaction to, after the Speick stick. Dave also included one of those in the package but it's already been sent as a freebie with some stuff I sold in the yard sale.

I'm now comfortable saying that the Timeless is just as good as the Tech. Whether I keep it is yet to be seen. I'm still waiting to see how much my bill will be for my surgery and hospitalization. Two different health insurance reps have given me two very different numbers. One I can handle but the other will cause some financial belt tightening. If it ends up being the lower number I'll probably keep the Timeless. If it's the higher one I'll sell it. We'll see.

I've never used the dollar razor but I do agree that the Baili is very good. I just didn't like that the head is extra wide to cover the blade tabs.

🤔 you may be on to something!

Thanks, @Dave in KY, but it's already over. It happened in late March. I've seen the ridiculously high bill but I'm not sure how much of it I'm responsible for.

Well, this is kinda turning into an SOTD thread because the razor is becoming the least interesting thing. The Timeless was great, as always. Two observations: not only am I not impressed with Polsilvers, I actually dislike them. And today I was reminded that Stirling soap is as good as or better than all of the flavor-of-the-month artisans that people like to gush over while being much less expensive (and without the drama and shipping fiascos). Well done, @Joe Hackett!

There is now on many forums a "Wolfmanesque" type of soap snobbery that is getting out of hand, It's easy to fall prey to marketing and shilling if one is not careful. 🤨

Nothing has ousted my Tech either, albeit it's the Ikon Tech... :)
I'm not opposed to multiple razors, but every time I've acquired a new one, it just sits as I use the Tech.
The R41-13 was close, but I have not enjoyed any other razor like I have the Ikon Tech, so it's the only razor I use.

I hope you get things squared away with your medical bills. We recently paid off a large one that has been draining us for a few years...

Hmm, either my post got taken over by the spam bots and deleted or I just forgot to hit the post reply button. Probably the second.

Anyway, what I thought I said earlier is that there's another challenger. I bought a Mamba .70 a couple weeks ago. I've read that it can be hard to find the right angle and that's been the case. Steep, shallow, middle, nothing works particularly well so far.

Thanks. We're getting there. It should be done in two or three months.
