Straight Razor of the day

"

очень хорошо" (ochen' khorosho) Very Good/Nice! I loved my visits to Russia and Belarus and look forward to the day when we can return to see my wife's family(likely not for quite some time). Someday I should pick up a Russian Rocket or other unamed razor made in the CCCP!

Very nice shave! I hear the steel of these razors is exceptionally hard! Is this true in your experience?

Yes, I believe it’s Swedish steel- could be wrong- but it’s very hard and took some time working on restoring the edge. Once I got it honed up and the bevel & edge even, this Soviet razor would shave the capitalism out of a Black Friday bargain 😂 I only own 1 other straight razor, so it gets used at least once a week-

Razor Red Imp 132
This shave with the razor after going thru the 0.1um hanging pasted balsa and kanayama strop felt really good. Is it a placebo effect because somehow after the kanayama, the edge felt smoother & keener (2 days in a row)? Managed 2.5passes without any red spots for a ccs+/dfs finish.

Razor Wade & Butcher 7/8 Steamship Wedge
The shave with this razor after stropping on the Kanayama was very nice! Buttery smooth and comfortable. Some say a wedge is like shaving with an axe but this axe is really gentle 😄 I just love hefty razors. 3 enjoyable passes without any issues for a dfs/ccs result.
