Straight Razor of the day

I gave up after a couple of hours and put a curve on the stone to finish the razor. I sort of figured I failed to set the bevel well enough and didn’t want to just keep grinding away since I was tape free. Not quite enough flex in that C135 steel to compensate with twist and torque.

For years I’ve been chasing the edge from one of my earliest razors I got from Jarrod before he started using convexed stones.

I’ve since redone that early piece very nicely in my usual way, but never replicated the typical face feel of that coticule that he probably did 10 thousand razors on.

Not the first time I’ve tried DiluWho honing . Sometimes I learn stuff I can use through experimentation. New stone, no harm, no foul, no real change in what I usually do this time around.
