Needed to post a pic of my new shave bowl, the shop keeper where I bought it is a friend, and she was a bit disappointed that her favorite bowl was going to be used for something like shaving. I don't think she realizes who we are here.
The Osprey has to be my best shaving related purchase, period. I'd never have thought an adjustable could be smoother than any of my other razors. Having a Gibbs, I was hoping for something in the same ballpark, and this is indeed that, and then some. I know there are other razors out there that more closely copy the Gibbs, but this is the one that actually delivers on the experience, in a 21st century format.
Great shave this morning. Returned to CBL Soaps and their excellent "Spaghetti Western" shave soap & ASL. Great scent and fantastic lather built with the Paladin "Falstaff" 2-Band Select Badger brush for two passes (plus touch-up) with the Gillette Super Speed and I finished with vintage Quinn's "Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind" witch hazel, followed by the matching aftershave lotion and Geo F. Trumper "Spanish Leather" EdC.
