Did I ever freeze my face off this morning - the Glacial Electric Sheep is the first and only mutton tallow based Glacial soap. Its scent is the same awesome blend of lemon, citronella and eucalyptus, the lather is superb, the slickness is terrific, the menthol sensation is so powerful that it feels almost borderline painful, in a good way, of course!) and the post-shave feeling is so comfortable. The Gold Bond moisturizer works so well as a balm, and the Rubby Dubby Doo went on frigidly cold. (I’ll soon need another bottle!) The new Super Platinum blade helped ensure a perfect three pass BBS shave that I enjoyed immensely!

Saturday's Cold Water Shave

I started with the cold water rinse. The Williams lathered well with the Jayaruh #425. I did two passes with the Schick Krona razor with a Astra SP Blade. After a cold water rinse, I finished with Humphrey's Witch Hazel and Brut After Shave. I am now clean, smooth, and refreshed.

Thanks for the question! I've been looking into the AS-D2 and WS-D2 myself. How's those feel?

In regards to the adjustable, it's pretty solid and can be quite interesting. There's a little switch under the head that on setting 1 makes the blade mild by having the blade platform move higher to hide the edge, while setting 2 lowers the platform to expose the blade more for an aggressive shave.

One small downside is that when shaving thicker stubble with thicker/dryer lathers, it can sometimes get stuck beneath the blade but doesn't really gunk up the razor. The weight and handle are great also, a slight bit heavier than the Popular, and the grip is quite natural feeling, but with the deeper ridges, soap and water can get caught and this could mess with your grip, needing semi-constant drying and cleaning during the shave.

Overall, a fine tool and good for quick shifts during shaves. I like to start my first pass with setting 2 when I take short shave break, then the second pass + Touch ups with setting 1. If I'm able to shave daily, one decent setting 1 pass + necessary touch ups are fine. Only thing I feel is it might be more delicate than some razors and I feel the potential of breaking higher than most, even compared to the simpler Popular.
