SOTD May 2026

Great shave, Akhi! I'm glad it lives up to your expectations. Anything that smells in that realm my wife refers to as "Old Man Smell". I can't wear any of it... you know the saying... "If Momma ain't happy, nobody's happy."

Shabbat Shalom!
Thanks Akhi!

My wife doesn’t really dislike the scent of this stuff - she teases me a lot. To be honest this Spice from Stirling as well as the B&M Spice are so close to the Shulton Old Spice that I can hardly tell which is which. One thing I can say is that the Cold Spices soap and aftershave are both total failures in the scent on account of the menthol in them. When I first get the Cold Spices lather on my face it starts off smelling nice but then the menthol starts ruining the scent. The same thing with the aftershave - for about a minute it smells like the Shulton Old Spice which is gorgeous but then the farkakteh menthol interferes with the scent in a bad way. I can’t wait to get rid of those two makharaikes! (lousy things!)

Shabbat Shalom!

Jeff

A good friend of mine recently gave me some Treet Carbon blades to try. I find them too mild so after two passes I replaced it with a Feather.

Saturday morning:

Hot shower
Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
Super Speed/Perma Sharp day 14
Stirling Island Man SS
Lubriderm Moisturizer
Stirling Island Man AS Splash

Wowwwwwww, is this Island Man scent ever gorgeous - it’s an exact copy of Creed’s Virgin Island Water which I received as a gift a long time ago. The soap delivered tons of thick, rich, creamy, super slick lather along with a most comfortable post-shave feeling that the Lubriderm moisturizer enhanced. Finally the Island Man aftershave and my beautiful wife rewarded me with big kisses. Three passes gave me an awesome BBS shave that I enjoyed immensely but this Perma Sharp blade is kaput after two weeks of hard work!

Enjoy your day and your shaves - see you tomorrow!

Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Late post but a great shave to start the day. Returned to my vintage Shulton "Old Spice" suite of products. Fantastic Old School scent with incredible lather built with the Semogue for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Thayers unscented witch hazel, the matching aftershave lotion & EdC.

BBS bliss!!

Hope you have a great day. :)

Shulton / Semogue / Karve / Kai / Thayers
