Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Great shave today! Returned to Wholly Kaw and their excellent "Chypre Rose Concerto" shave soap and splash. Wonderful scent with great lather built with the Simpson badger brush for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Thayers unscented witch hazel, the matching aftershave splash, & Domenico Caraceni "1913" EdP. Zero feedback from the alum.

BBS bliss!!

Hope you have a great day. :)

Salaam Aleikum Wa Rahmat Allah Al Barakatu!

(May peace be upon you and the mercy and blessing of God!)

Tuesday morning:

Hot shower
Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster
Super Speed/7 O’Clock day 2
Hamol SC (from Syria and very nice)
Prep ASB
Booster Polar Ice AS Splash

Years ago I received this lovely Hamol cream from a friend of mine who’s from Syria when he went to visit his family there. It’s a shame that politics sometimes get in the way because as an Israeli I’m not able to travel there. This cream is very popular in Syrian barbershops - the scent is a beautiful blend of citronella and mint, just a small dab on both cheeks is enough to give thick, rich, slick, protective lather, it’s slightly mentholated, and it’s so soothing. The Prep is such a fantastic balm, and the Polar Ice aftershave is an old school Canadian barbershop classic. Three passes gave me a brilliant BBS shave that was such an immense pleasure!

Wishing you all a great day - be well and stay safe!

Na’iman! (That’s what a Middle Eastern barber says to a customer after cutting his hair or shaving him!)

Wonderful shave, Lantsman! It truly is a shame that Israelis cannot travel to many countries. Maybe some day in our lifetime.

Tabac Tuesday's Cold Water Shave

Cold Water Rinse
Tabac Shave Soap
Jayaruh #478
Cobra Classic
Feather Artist Club
Cold Water Rinse
Humphrey's Witch Hazel
Tabac After Shave

The Tabac Shave Soap face-lathered well with Jayaruh #478 Synthetic brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Cobra Classic razor and the Feather Artist Club Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Humphrey's Witch Hazel and Tabac After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Tryout Tuesday… probably not a thing but I decided to see if I could get this tiny little (and super light!) Keen Kutter to work. With no frame of reference from an original blade, I put a sChick blade (4) in and set it as close as I could to the blade exposure I get when I use one of my Enders Speed Shavers with a modified blade for an adapter. Results after two passes plus a little touchup - and constantly checking to make sure the blade didn’t shift (it never did) - included CCS smoothness with no bites, nicks or weepers and only the slightest bit of feedback on my neck with the alum block. Quite happy with this first attempt, I think I’ll give it another go in a day or two with a fresh B20 blade set a little more aggressive and see what happens.

Cheers!

Pre-shave:
1. Hot Water Shower
2. Proraso White Pre-shave Cream

Shave:
1. CBL Fusion Base Shave Soap - Baccarat Rouge 540
2. Williams Wool Fat Shaving Soap - Original Tallow Formulation
3. FEON Japanese Straight Razor - Circa 1950s
4. Atelier S. Tinker Shaving Brush - 28mm High Mountain Badger
5. Atelier S. Tinker Lathering Bowl

Post-shave
1. Proraso Alum Block
2. Snail Mucin Facial Moisturizer
3. Murray & Lanman Florida Water Cologne

Overall a very nice, close shave. I made one mistake which was critical, however. I let my mind wonder for just a moment and hung the toe of my razor into some scar tissue in my left pre-auricular area where I had a large cyst removed about 2 years ago. Lots of red fluid initially, and over an hour later it is still weeping. I am contemplating putting ground alum or table salt on it.

That sounds painful.

Thanks for your excellent post. There's nothing like starting the day off with a little adventure in one's shave.

Thanks for your post. I have a small bit of scarring under my chin that I have to be mindful of.

I've noticed within the last year that my whiskers have gotten tougher again. I know that the skin gets thinner as you age. I think that explains my drift towards milder razors and sharper blades.
No nicks, weepers or razor burn.

Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Another phenomenal shave this morning! Returned to the Valobra-era TAOS unscented shave soap. Incredible lather built with the Semogue boar brush for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Stirling "Bay Rum" witch hazel, Layrite No.9 aftershave lotion & Clubman 'Citrus Musk" EdC. Fantastic shave all around. Literally zero feedback from the alum.

BBS bliss!!

Hope you have a great day. :)
