Awesome shave Akhi!SOTD Wednesday, March 4, 2026
2 day of growth taken down with the Rockwell 6s on plate 3. 1st time Van Der Hagen. This is a glycerin soap puck. It performed OK. I rubbed the puck all over my beard like a shave stick and then built the lather on my face. It was not as thick as other soaps, but was slick. I achieved a BBS shave.

A terrific shave Lantzman!Guten Morgen Kerle,
(Good morning guys,)
Meine Donnerstagsrasur:
(My Thursday shave
Hot shower with Tabac bath soap
Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster
Super Speed/Perma Sharp day 8
Tabac SS
Lubriderm Moisturizer
Tabac Deodorant Spray
Tabac AS Splash
Tabac Cologne
This is so funny - every time I use Tabac for some reason I start thinking in German - just kidding, but this stuff is so wonderful. I enjoyed my shower with the Tabac bath soap so much, the scent perfumed my bathroom and it lingered on my skin not to mention how spotlessly clean it left me with a good moisturizing feeling. The shaving soap buried my face in thick, rich, super slick, beautifully scented lather, and it gave me such a comfortable postshave sensation. The Lubriderm moisturizer works so well as a balm and it’s unscented so it doesn’t disrupt the lovely scent. The Tabac deodorant spray, aftershave, and cologne were a perfect finish. Another dynamite three pass BBS shave that was fit for a king!
Allen einen tollen Tag - passt auf euch auf!
(A great day to everyone - take care of yourselves!)

About six years ago, someone bought a Joris Razor from me, and at the time he told me that Joris used Fatip razor heads made for them by Fatip but of course better finish. I didn't give it much thought until this morning when another member on different forum asked me the same question as you, so I decided to look it up. This is what come back from Google>:Thanks. I was thinking the head looks very similar to the R41. I have the 2013 version.
Todah Rabah, Akhi!Awesome shave Akhi!
Great shave,,Lantzman! I have a love/hate relationship with Cella. I love it and my wife hates the smell of it. I ended up giving it away.Thursday March 5, 2026

Wow, I never would have guessed that. I have about four Fatip razors and I like them. Thanks a looking into that and sharing the knowledge. I appreciate it.About six years ago, someone bought a Joris Razor from me, and at the time he told me that Joris used Fatip razor heads made for them by Fatip but of course better finish. he Joris razor head is based on the Fatip open comb design, specifically the nine-prong and eleven-prong models. However, Plisson (the brand behind Joris) refines, finishes, and plates the heads—often with premium materials like palladium or 24k gold—resulting in a superior finish compared to standard Fatip razors.
In short: Yes, Joris uses Fatip-made heads, but the final product is enhanced and differentiated through Plisson’s craftsmanship and design.
- The head itself is manufactured by Fatip/Permana in Italy, meaning the core design and construction are shared.
- Fatip reserves the eleven-prong head for its own brand, while Joris (and other brands like Boker and Schone) use the nine-prong version, which is now the more common model produced by Fatip for third parties.
- Despite the shared origin, Joris razors are not identical to Fatip—differences in plating, handle design, and finishing give Joris a distinct, more luxurious appearance and feel.
