Saturday's Cold Water Shave

Cold Water Rinse
Nivea Shave Cream
Jayaruh #476
Gillette Fat Handle Tech
Gillette Silver Blue
Cold Water Rinse
Humphrey's Witch Hazel
Nivea After Shave Balm

The Nivea Shave Cream face-lathered well with Jayaruh #476 Synthetic brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Gillette Fat Handle Tech razor and the Gillette Silver Blue Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Humphrey's Witch Hazel and Nivea After Shave Balm. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Saturday morning:

Hot shower
Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
Super Speed/7 O’Clock day 13
MSC Vintage Spice SS
Lubriderm Moisturizer
MSC Vintage Spice AS Splash

This 7 O’Clock blade is getting pretty dull but I think I can squeeze one final shave from it tomorrow. My beautiful Yaqi synthetic churned up fabulous lather from the Vintage Spice soap that had plenty of slickness, and it left a really comfortable postshave feeling that the Lubriderm moisturizer enhanced. Finally the Vintage Spice aftershave went on with its great scent that is indeed very close to the Shulton Old Spice but not quite there. (The B&M Spice soap and the Stirling Spice edt pushed it away!) Another lovely three pass BBS shave that was so much fun - not like the aggravation that I had yesterday!

See y’all tomorrow - have a nice day!

Razor: Weber/UFO Colibri
Blade: SuperMax SP Tiger (1)
Brush: Oumo General 25mm X Density ST-1
Scuttle: Castle Shave 4 1/4"
Pre-Shave Scrub: MRGLO
Pre-Shave Oil: Stirling Island Man
Shave Soap: Spearhead Shaving/Seaforth! Black Watch
Butter: Saponificio Varesino Puro Burro di Karitè
Aftershave: Spearhead Shaving/Seaforth! Black Watch

Dennis's best creation, imho. It's my go to fragrance for winter, especially yule tide. Anxiously awaiting the reboot from HoM, so I can replace the bottle of BlackWatch EDP my doggo accidentally broke while wagging his tail excitedly when he came into the bathroom to greet me.

An unseasonably warm day here in the Midwest. Will get up to 75F today, so I broke out the Summer soap, as it was already 65F when I took my shower and shaved. This soap is really good, unfortunately the menthol in the aftershave drowns out the pleasant aroma of coconut and lime. Don uses real menthol instead of synthetic, the downside is the strong peppermint smell. In this particular case, I'd omit the menthol from the Aftershave, but keep it in the soap. You'd still get the cooling effect from the soap, but you'd enhance the fragrance from the aftershave, if you eliminated the menthol/peppermint smell. **** I love menthol, but in this case, the benefits are far outweighed by the negative effect on the aftershave scent.

It is my favorite fragrance as well.

I can relate to a bottle being broken by accident in the bathroom as well. In my case, it was a brand new, unopened bottle of Heather aftershave that I had on the counter, and while bent over the sink washing my face prepping for my shave, my left elbow hit the bottle of Heather and that's all she wrote.

I try to avoid this from happening by not taking out the AS until I am ready to apply it.

Sorry to hear that you both lost bottles.

WOW! What a treat today's shave was. I returned to @CBLindsay / CBL and their wonderful "Lavender & Leather" shave soap with Wagyu Beef Tallow sourced here in my home state. As the title indicates, leather & lavender are the sole notes with this soap. The leather is rich, earthy and slightly sweet. The lavender is very dry, no sweetness here and there's a lighter camphorous note that gives the soap a slight medicinal quality. Somewhat reserved out of the tub, the scent grows with the lather. And regarding the lather, it's quality and performance was some of the best I've ever used! Three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Gillette aftershave gel & Coty "Aspen" EdT. This one's definitely going back in my soap rotation!

BBS bliss!!

Hope you have a great day. :)
