Friday's Cold Water Shave

Cold Water Rinse
Williams Mug Shave Soap
Jayaruh #425 Synthetic
Gillette New Improved Razor (1921)
PolSilver Super Iridium Extra Stainless Blade
CWR
Brut After Shave

I started with the cold water rinse. The Williams lathered well with the Jayaruh #425. I did one quick pass and touch-ups with the Gillette New Improved Razor with a PolSilver Super Iridium Extra Stainless Blade. After a cold water rinse, I finished with Brut After Shave. I am now clean, smooth, and refreshed.

I only speak English. I was attempting to learn some Hebrew with the app Duolingo, but it was not the best. I know a few words & phrases of Hebrew and Yiddish.

I think people from Europe and other countries outside the US are likely to know at least 2 languages.

It's my understanding that English as a second language is a requirement in grade school in many countries.
At least you speak the most important language in the world. Depending on where you’re from in Europe you’ll very likely speak a minimum of 2-3 languages. Where my parents came from most of the people spoke an average of 4 languages - because of my Dad serving in the Russian army during WW2 and because of he and my Mom moving around after the war they spoke 5 languages. When they moved to Israel they learned Hebrew right away and when I was born I automatically learned Hebrew, Russian, Yiddish, Polish, and German and they sent me to French schools because they wanted me to get the best possible education and I became a francophone but I also learned 6 dialects of Arabic to the point where I can speak to and adjust my accent and pronunciation to converse with a Lebanese, a Syrian, a Palestinian, an Egyptian, an Iraqi or a Moroccan. I also speak the Classical Arabic dialect of Saudi Arabia perfectly. When we left Israel we moved in Thessaloniki, Greece so I speak Greek perfectly and I also learned Turkish and when we moved here to Canada I learned two African languages, Swahili and Lingala. No bragging intended!

19 June, 2026

Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Fantastic shave with which to close out the workweek! It has been a very long time since I last used the Hamami soap and splash and today was a great reminder how good it is! Wet stone, with light spice and floral notes gives a truly unique experience. Wonderful! Incredible lather built with the WWBW synth for three passes with the Rockwell 6S and I finished with alum, followed by Thayers unscented witch hazel, the matching aftershave splash, CBL Premium Barber Powder and Acqua di Parma "Colonia" EdC.

BBS bliss!!

Hope you have a great day. :)

Friday morning:

Long hot shower
Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
Super Speed/7 O’Clock day 7
MSC Pole Position SS
Lubriderm Moisturizer
Bleu de Chanel Deodorant Stick
Bleu de Chanel Parfum

My dear brother Fernando in Johannesburg, South Africa makes such fabulous soaps and his Pole Position is one of them. It’s tallow based, its scent is very nice - it seems to resemble the CK One from Calvin Klein, it lathers wonderfully, the slickness is great, and the post-shave feeling is A1. The Lubriderm moisturizer gave me plenty of additional soothing, and I received a Bleu de Chanel from my lovely sister-in-law for my birthday - this fragrance is heavenly. Three passes did the job for me - another delightful BBS shave that was so easy as well as enjoyable!

Wishing you all a great weekend - be well and stay safe!
