Overall Rating: ★★★★☆ (Great Shave)
Smoothness: ★★★☆☆ (Pretty Good)
Irritation: ★★★☆☆ (Mild Tingle)

Notes: A little more than 2 days of growth.

The feather blade was better today on its second use, but still too harsh. This was my last blade from a tuck that was in my first sample pack over 2 years ago. I know they are supposedly the sharpest, but IMHO they are not worth it for the irritation. I did get a BBS shave.

Time of Day: Afternoon 🌤️
Blade Uses: 2
Passes: 3

Razor: Yates Precision Materials Merica SS Stonewashed
Blade: Feather Hi-Stainless
Soap: Stirling Soap Co Unscented with Beeswax - Shave Soap
Shaving Bowl: CaYuen Workshop The Copper Ore Shaving Bowl
Brush: PAA Amber Aerolite
Pre-Shave: Hot Shower
Pre-Shave 2: PAA Cube 2.0 Non-metholated
Aftershave: PAA Alum Solid Block No slip Grip.
Aftershave 2: Thayer's Cucumber Facial Toner - Witch Hazel

Saturday's Cold Water Shave

Cold Water Rinse
Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Soap
Jayaruh #199 Synthetic
Supply SE MAX
Supply Black Label Injector
Cold Water Rinse
Humphrey's Witch Hazel
Nivea Shave Balm

The Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Soap face-lathered well with Jayaruh #199 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Supply SE MAX razor and the Supply Black Label Injector Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Humphrey's Witch Hazel and Nivea Shave Balm. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Thank you for your excellent post. I went through a process of feeling like you do concerning Feather blades. It actually took years and going through dozens of different brand blades, and periodically coming back to try Feather. Now it's one of my favorite blades. For me and many others they're best in mild to medium razors. I think it may have a lot to do with me refining my technique over time.

Saturday morning:

Hot shower
Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster
Super Speed/Crystal day 7
Alluvian Norwegian Spear SS
Lubriderm Moisturizer
Pinaud Bay Rum AS Splash

This Alluvian soap has been sitting here in the house for ages - the last time I used it was around four years ago so I decided to go with it today. I believe it’s a vegan based soap, it smells very nice - it’s mainly spearmint and clove with a couple of other notes that I can’t describe, it lathers great although it lacks slickness, it has a bit of a cooling sensation, and it’s fairly decent skincare wise. What I DON’T like is the price - this stuff cost me $35 which I think is way too much for what you get. The Lubriderm moisturizer felt so soothing, and the Pinaud Bay Rum went on with its beautiful old school barbershop scent that I love so much. Another three pass BBS shave that I must say I enjoyed a lot!

Wishing you all a great day - be well and stay safe!

Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Phenomenal shave this morning! Returned to Fine Accoutrements and their fantastic "L'Orange Noir" shave soap and splash. Wonderful Terre d'Hermes scent with an incredibly thick and slick lather built with the Semogue SOC boar brush for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Thayers unscented witch hazel and the matching aftershave lotion.

Another effortless BBS shave!

Hope you have a great day. :)
