Friday morning:

Hot shower
Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
Super Speed/new Super Platinum
Cella SS
Lubriderm Moisturizer
Proraso Red AS Splash

What a difference a new blade makes - after struggling yesterday the brand new Super Platinum made quick work of my stubble and left me BBS in three swift, easy passes. It’s been such a long time since I used the Cella so I wanted to enjoy its delightful bitter almond scent, it buried my face in such thick, rich, slick lather, and it’s so gentle on my sensitive skin. The Lubriderm moisturizer felt so soothing and the Proraso Red aftershave smells lovely - a very good match for this particular soap. Did I ever have fun during this shave - wow!!!!!

Wishing you all a great weekend - be well and stay safe!

Saturday's Cold Water Shave

Cold Water Rinse
Mitchell's Wool Fat Shave Soap
Jayaruh #224 Synthetic
Supply The Single Edge SE
Supply Black Label Blade
Cold Water Rinse
Humphrey's Witch Hazel
Aqua Velva Ice Blue

The Mitchell's Wool Fat Shave Soap face-lathered well with Jayaruh #224 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Supply The Single Edge SE razor and the Supply Black Label Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Humphrey's Witch Hazel and Aqua Velva Ice Blue. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Saturday morning:

Hot shower
Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster
Super Speed/Super Platinum day 2
Palmolive Menthol SC
Gold Bond Moisturizer
Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS Splash

Although I’m mostly a soap user there are still some creams that I enjoy a lot and the Palmolive Menthol is one of them. I love its fresh minty scent, my Razorock Plissoft whipped up such fabulous lather with it, the menthol sensation felt heavenly, and the postshave feeling was so comfortable. The Gold Bond moisturizer and the Aqua Velva aftershave were a perfect finishing combination. Another awesome three pass BBS shave that was so easy as well as pleasurable!

Wishing you all a nice day - be well and stay safe!

What shave soap did you use? Wow, Canoe AS... i remember seeing it in the stores when I was a kid. I didn't know they still made it.
The soap is a cheap glycerin-based puck I bought when I got into DE razors a while back. Nothing fancy but it lathers nicely. Canoe was my go-to when I first started shaving around 1980. Found this vintage bottle recently that might be a little older than that. I’m still a fan!

I don't often go for sweeter scents, but Cherry Almond is very nice, IMO. Lovely setup.
