Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Williams Mug Soap Challenge: Day 20

Another fantastic shave this morning. Great lather built with the Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements "The Starcraft" synth for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '58 Gillette Super Speed, and I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by vintage Williams "Aqua Velva" aftershave lotion, talc and Rabanne "Paco Rabanne Pour Homme" EdT.

Hope you have a great day. :)

Well, shaves are consistently getting better around my house. Hardly any red fluid to be found and cursing has been minimal. I still need a little clean-up help from a DE, and that's ok. Progress, not perfection, as we say in recovery. I'm approaching DFS, though no babies or dolphins to report.

Pre-shave: bloom water from DG Massacre of the Innocents mixed with CeraVe and glycerin

Brush: Omega 48 Pro Boar

Shave: Joseph Elliot Travel Size 5/8 Near Wedge SR; knock-off Gillette Super Speed DE with Astra blades that I stole from my significant other

Post-shave: Alum, Thayer's Unscented Witch Hazel & Aloe, CeraVe Lotion, Vitamin E Oil, Hyaluronic Acid, Snail Mucin

What can I say? Still getting superb shaves from both the Williams soap and Wizamet blade. Great lather built with the RazoRock "Hive 24" synth for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '58 Gillette Super Speed, and I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by Clubman Reserve "Cognac Neat" aftershave lotion, talc and Tom Ford "Tom Ford for Men" EdT.

Hope you have a great day. :)

It is sorta like riding a bike, although this morning’s shave was anything but as enjoyable and relaxing as I’d like. SWMBO in the absence of her grandchildren has decided that yours truly required the same kind of close supervision they receive when visiting. Since my discharge from rehab, my left wing isn’t quite as adept as my right necessitating a change in my straight technique. And by the way, I had practiced, minus the blade in my Tedalus, using only my right hand to straight shave the mug. The doc, of course, had informed me that my straight-shaving days were over. I smiled and nodded, but after 78 rotations around the sun, I’ll be damned if I let some wet-behind-the-ears kid tell me of what I’m capable. In any case, despite the bride’s concerns that I’d shear off an ear, all went well with only a very minor red spot on my left jawline. All in all it felt good to get back into the swing of things.

I reached for the ultra rare Janus stainless steel toggle razor this morning. Only a handful of these are in the wild partly because it was a limited run but also due to its wildly aggressive nature.

Razor: Janus Toggle
Blade: super iridium
Brush: Asylum Half Hive Synthetic
Cream: Castle Forbes Limes
A/S: ABB Ribeira
