Late post and shave today. Took the day off. We normally get a day off for our birthday but instead of taking it yesterday I waited until today in order to have a five-day holiday weekend (we get tomorrow and Monday off as well). Went back to "Vespers" for today's shave. Fantastic scent for the season and for the colder months ahead. And the lather is exceptional! No plans for today. Just taking care of some thigs here at the house.
Hope you have a wonderful day.

Truly classic lather from this cream! Love the scent and the cooling sensation
Razor and blade combination is good but the blade is getting less efficient...
still managed a bbs to dfs finish in 3passes. Nice nice aftershaves.

Love this wonderfully scented soap with the nice creamy & slick qualities. Seems like this older version is better...
A good shave with the razor paired with the excellent blade. 3 smooth and easy passes for a bbs finish. Lovely aftershaves...
Busy day today, but the morning shave checked all the boxes. The Ellis &Allan “Edgar Allan Poe” 8/8 stubtail took care of my mug stubble, although I will admit wielding this behemoth takes care. Three and a half passes were necessary to clean up the mug for church tonight. The Eclipse Red Ring did its usual two pass ATG noggin sweep, and all was right with the world. I’m clean and velveteen from noggin to shoulders. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all! May the love and peace of Christ warm your hearts and see you through to the next year! God bless you all!

This is my traditional Christmas Eve shave. The scent of Cella reminds me of some of the Italian Christmas cookies that I grew up with. I always use my Vintage Gillette Toggle that I had plated in Rhodium a few years back by my good friends Chris & Cap. It’s my favorite Vintage razor and will never leave my den and one day be passed on to my son. Wishing everyone who celebrates Christmas a great time with family and friends! ️

Pre-shave: Col. Conk Amber
Lather: Cella
Brush: Vintage something with a synthetic knot
Razor: GEM Micromatic OC
Blade: PAL Blue Carbon
Post-shave: Nivea Sensitive balm
Thus far, I have only shaven with Personna GEM PTFE blades which are usually very smooth. I decided to try a few different types of blades, just to see how they perform. I went with the PAL Blue Carbon today. It cut alright for the most part but was definitely way tuggier than a PTFE. I went with it and finished a three-pass shave achieving a DFS- result. I'm going to try this blade one more time to see if it mellows out but I'm not holding out much hope. Oh well. It was worth trying. Happy shaves!
