2 days of growth easily sliced off with my Timeless Aluminum Slant with a Personna Gem Diamond Glide(3) DE. The lather from my Frankensoap mixture today, was fabulous. These scents mixed well together. Overall, a great shave.

Fresh, tangy lemon with two boatloads of frigidly cold menthol, a beautiful brush that performs like a champ, an awesome razor/blade combination and three passes - what more can I ask for? Another super duper BBS shave that was so delightful. The Glacial Lemon Chill soap, balm, and aftershave are an absolute must have in my den at ALL times - do I ever LOVE them. Finally the 114 cologne which is a very cheap one from Lebanon, yet it has a lovely lemony fragrance which surprised my wife - she complimented me on it when she smelled it and she couldn’t believe it when I told her that it cost me only six bucks!

A fabulous shave this morning with Subtle Art Soap Co Mid Cape Barber. What a marvelous scent. Joe and Sadie's soaps perform so well. The Rockwell 6s on plate 2 easily handled the 1 day's growth.

Originally I was planning on using a vintage stick from Sweden but I suddenly saw this Florena cream so I went with it instead. This tube is old but the cream still smells and performs great not to mention how comfortable it leaves my skin. The Lubriderm moisturizer enhanced the comfort, and the Total Attraction aftershave smells really nice - my wife even complimented me on it and when I told her how little I paid for it she freaked out. Three passes gave me such a wonderful BBS shave that I enjoyed so much!

VINTAGE APRIL
LATHERS - STICKS, SAMPLES & TUBES MONTH

EDGE TEST – One of my best Botan results so far
Full three pass shave with no helper razor
Little 4/8 Shur-Edge did the job all by itself
I seem to get some of my best results with ARKO
Overall a smooth and comfortable BBS straight razor shave

This was a very good shave,no irritation but the blade was probably actually past the 3 times used. As there was some rigging towards the end of the shave.
As always Stirling Soap performs exactly as advertised and with the Vie-Long brush it did fantastic providing protection.

So far, my best shaves have been with the stainless GEM (Accu-whatever) blades, usually after the initial two or three uses. I’ve tried these blued PAL blades a few times and haven’t really been impressed with them yet… hoping as my technique improves “maybe” that will change. This was my first time pairing a PAL with the Featherweight. Haven’t tried any other carbon blades yet.

I've always felt that the carbon steel blades were smoother feeling out of the razor. I wouldn't say they give a better shave,but the interaction on the skin is just smoother.
I'm lucky that I can find the carbon blades locally,and while they do take more care (drying off,keeping out of moisture,I feel like that extra 30 seconds makes a difference to me. YMMV however.
I do also think the subsequent shaves with the carbon are better and they seem to last as long as stainless does.

That’s what I’ve heard. Always looking for a local source for carbon blades but no luck so far. Not ready to pay online + shipping prices yet; still have 90-something stainless blades on hand.

This is my third shave at our new home in Simpsonville. We will do the big move Saturday.

The Williams Mug Shave Soap here face-lathered well with Jayaruh #425 Synthetic brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Schick C Repeater razor and the Personna Injector Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Humphrey's Witch Hazel and Classic Old Spice After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
