Good morning Cadre! Hope you had a pleasant weekend.

Back at the office today. Great shave to get the new workweek started. Went with Maggard's "London Barbershop" soap. Great lather w/ medium scent strength. Unfortunately the decided to use "that barbershop scent". It's not a bad scent but it's so very similar to other scents used in "barbershop" soaps out there. It's as if there's a tank yard out there somewhere filled with a generic "barbershop" fragrance blend that IMO too many artisans go for instead of coming up with something original.



Again, it's not "bad" just generic and unoriginal IMO. Three passes for DFS+ result and I finished with a splash of 4711 Aftershave and a spray of Acqua Di Gio EdT.

OK, we always hear complaining that stores bring out the Christmas stuff way too early in the fall…….And I’ve also heard of Christmas in July - so is this the equivalent of bringing out the Christmas decor for that “holiday”

Nah man, like Mark said it’s good year around. Funny though I did hesitate when I grabbed it because it didn’t seem right to use it around this time.

Really enjoying the combo of Ethos Greenfresh followed by the Brut homage “Et Tu” from PAA. Seems to capture this moment in the seasons for me. Plus always fun to bring out the Senator. Certainly one of my most mild but efficient open comb razors.

A nice enough soap with a sweet scent and a satisfactory creamy slick lather...
Today's shave with this razor was very nice and enjoyable. The edge refreshed on pasted balsa and kanayama strop feels super smooth & keen. Did the kanayama improve the smoothness...mmm? Very interesting...2.5passes for a dfs/ccs result and 2 micro red spots. The aftershaves were terrific.
