Ramblings of a MilkCrate

I would like to congratulate you. @MilkCrate That is a path I cannot follow.
I am the Hugh Heffner of soap. No one soap, can satiate my desires for long. For I chase the Tallow Dragon.

Posts like this can make you a easy mark. For nefarious fellows that deal in such slippery and good smelling concoctions. They use common names to introduce themselves like. Chris, Barrister, Mann etc. Careful in your dealings with them.
But the most dangerous and devious act is committed by us that are afflicted with SAD. Beware the phrase "Would you like me to send you a sample?"

@NurseDave I would say in my youth I was probably more annoying. Being more self aware now. I have learned when someone is not afflicted with my "special" way of looking at things.
And leave them alone.
Diners are a great place to people watch. After the bars close or the church lets out.

TGIWMF! Thank Goodness It's Wednesday My Friday! That's right friends and neighbors, I am wrapping up the work week for a long weekend. So today I am trying a sample of PAA Sangre De Drago soap that I received from @DeepSea ... thank you for that! I have been jonesing to try this since I received it, but had to wrap up that 3017. It has a really nice, darker scent and I'm digging it. Pulled a bit out and put it in the copper bowl, working up a very nice lather that smelled great.

Went with my standard three passes of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. Outstanding shave and I am BBS for the win! Oh yeah ... a great shave to wrap up the work week. Wrapped everything up with a quick rinse and pat dry. Splash of the witch hazel then a splash of the AS. Everything was right as rain! But ... but ... that splash was the wrong choice. It was too citrus forward and light ... won't make that mistake again. But good stuff anyway. I'm going to have to grab a sample of the splash and give it a go.

Home Front-
Sleeping late tomorrow.

The Process-
Late morning shave and it was glorious. I was not violently woken up by an alarm, just a nice gentle awakening. What to shave with today? Decisions ... decisions, let’s go with the Bay Rum. Had my brush soaking in a mug of hot water while I had my coffee. Loaded the soap for 30 seconds and got to it. Man that whipped up a ton of great smelling lather.

40 laps on leather and it was all business. Went with my standard three passes of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. A fantastic shave and I am BBS for the win! Man that was really nice and relaxing, with the heavy scent of Bay Rum wafting through the air. No light fragrance here.

Wrapped everything up with a quick rinse and pat dry. Splash of the witch hazel then a glug of the AS. Everything was right as rain! I couldn’t help that glug, the restrictor is very generous. Great post shave feel and I smell amazing! Past the missus at the coffee pot and said “Sorry, I hit the AS a bit hard.” She replied “No you didn’t”. She’s a keeper. Life is good!

Home Front-
Just a lazy day today. I got my work finished up, so nothing pending. I have a few projects around the house to knock out, but plenty of time.

The Process-
Psssst, late morning shave. So, trying the Stirling Agar samples that just came in. Dropped the puck into a spare tin that I had and got to it. The scent is nice, but not exactly what I was looking for. For lack of a better description, most of my soaps fall into the “brighter” category. Some examples are: Piacenza, Executive Man, Gaelic Tweed, MWF, etc. I was looking for something “darker”. Something maybe earthy, woody, etc ... darker. This soap kinda is middle of the road scent wise. It’s not citrus bright, but not dark ... if that makes sense. Nice scent though and the missus said that it’s different enough from my others to keep it. So missus approved.

40 laps on leather and it was all business. Went with my standard three passes of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. Another very nice shave and I’m DFS for this win! I did miss it by that much ... a smidge in my problem area robbed me of BBS. Oh well, still a very nice shave.

Wrapped everything up with a quick rinse and pat dry. Splash of the witch hazel then a splash of the AS. Everything was right as rain? Yup, that was a question make, but everything was fine. I initially picked up an off putting scent from the AS. It was gone within a second or two. I’ve had that on a couple of aftershaves, but it’s rare. The scent is nice, I could keep it. We’ll see what I think by the end of the sample. Life is good!
