Ramblings of a MilkCrate

Speaking of turkey, we're making a stuffed Thanksgiving turkey chicken for supper (There's just the two of us) as we enjoyed our num nums last week so much that we decided to do it again!
I need to be careful of that. I have been eating a bit more the last three days.

So … Sir Henry’s is back on deck today. Kudos to this vendor for his outstanding customer service. I bought this on Amazon because I had a gift card. A few days after it arrived, I got a message from Sir Henry’s. They were refreshing inventory and wanted to make sure I had the freshest batch. We checked the tub and it was not, but they promptly sent me a new tub and some samples too. Annnnnnnnd I’m going to get the aftershave and add it to the rotation. Yes, I am really digging this scent.

I was running a tad late, so today was a lunchtime shave. Three smooth passes and I am BBS for the win! Unfortunately I didn’t have the matching aftershave, so I chased this one with Witch Hazel. But the soap scent lingered well after the shave and the missus likes it. Life is good!

So as I mentioned previously, I scored this Red Top in a PIF and had to try it. Overall it’s in good shape, but missing a side cover over a door hinge. I may keep this one and send it to BRG for a re-plate and repair, we’ll see. Dropped a Feather blade in it and got to work. The Fat whipped up a nice lather rather quickly and it was shave time.

Three quick and smooth passes and I am BBS for the win! Yup, this one is a keeper. It delivers a nice, smooth shave with no drama. Wrapped everything up with a quick rinse and pat dry. A healthy splash of the aftershave and everything was right as rain! Great start to the day. Life is good!

Home Front-
Mom and my stepdad seem to be having more good days than bad. They are also talking about getting another Covid test to see if they are negative. Turbo is finding her place in the pecking order, but tries to steal treats and what-not from the older Doxie. Other than that, not much going on. I need to pack up a few PIFs and get them out before the end of the week. And I think that’s all I have at the moment.

Glad to hear the family is doing better!

I’m a big fan of my Red Tip. Always delivers. My only complaint is cosmetic. It definitely needs some TLC in that department but nothing that effects the shave.

You have the coolest collection of aftershaves!

Glad that the folks are turning a corner!

I had to hit this one again … just because. Life is good!

I’ll have to check them out. I know you've mentioned them before. I also have what might be an Aristocrat that needs side caps and door adjustments. I don’t trust it with a blade in it currently lol
+1 on BRG - had him replate my Red Tip and Canadian Prewar Tech and am thrilled with the results, turnaround time, and price in comparison to some of the other replaters out there.

I had forgotten that I had this soap sample. I had also scored the aftershave samples from SV, so this set was a go. I whipped up a really nice lather in the copper bowl. It was wet enough to sling, but never broke down. It was nice. I’m digging this scent too.

10 laps on linen and 40 on leather and it was go time. I went with my standard three passes of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. Great shave and I am BBS for the win! Followed that up with a quick rinse and pat dry. Chased that with a splash of the aftershave and everything was right as rain! Yes it was! I’m really liking these Witch Hazel splashes too. This scent is great and it’s missus approved. Life is good!
