Ramblings of a MilkCrate

That gives me an interesting idea. Use a quarter of soap at a time. That provides plenty of consistency and still allows for slightly more variety. So about an ounce every month or so? I did absolutely no math on that so it's definitely wrong.

Edit: maybe variety isn't the right choice of word :ROFLMAO:

But with my idea, I can use soap for a week or maybe two, since I’m not using math, and I’m done. No long suffering through a 3017. That way I can make a dent in soaps that I will not repurchase. And if I attached a sign up sheet I could probably get several others on board.

The Shave-
Happy Hump Day! The usual early morning shave, with a few kit changes again. I'm still working on the CC Venture for the work week and may use it a bit more after that. Although, variety sure does sound nice right about now. So with that in mind I changed up the razor and brush. I feel so much better now. Went with a 30 second load time and whipped up a really nice lather.

60 laps on leather this morning and we are ready for business. And no skimping on the passes today either. I went with my standard three pass shave of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. Had a good shave this morning, just kinda taking my time. Three passes down and I was BBS to start the day. Had enough lather left over for a post shave while I cleaned my shave gear too. Wrapped everything up with a quick rinse and pat dry. A healthy splash of the AS and everything was right as rain! You know it. Ok, three shaves down, let's see how many I can add before the urge for variety pulls me in a different direction. Life is good!

The Shave-
Early morning shave and once again I changed up a few bits. This was a horrid shave, I am SAS and have some irritation. But enough about that crap-tastic event. That was my fault, I could have changed gears, but I didn't.

I have taken several razors back to the hones over the last couple of weeks and the edges have been trash. I started out just wanting to freshen them up, but I have made the edges worse. My honing mojo no mo? Not sure what's going on with that. I worked on the J Allen last night. It already has a lot of home wear from before I got it, so why not. It shaves well when honed. Anyway, I had tried to freshen it up last week and failed. So I took it all the way back to bevel set and worked back through the progress last night. Thought (or hoped) I had it, but this shave this morning shows otherwise. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.

In spite of that ... Life is good!

The Shave-
My face needed a break today, it’s been a rough week. Changed up the whole kit and that was definitely the right call. First up, the soap ... The Fat. I know it can be hit or miss for some, but on our Co-op water, it is a lather beast. I have not had any issues with it. Went with the Marco Method and had some glorious, messy fun. The lather just built and built. Slickness and residual slickness were spot on. Light fresh scent and it rinsed easily. It just kicked the CC Venture into the PIF pile. Yes, it was that good.

I already had a blade in the Super Speed and kept that. Added in the Graydog Boar and that was all she wrote. An outstanding three pass shave and I am BBS for the win! I can sum that shave up in one word A-MAZ-ING! You know I had plenty of lather for my post shave while I cleaned my shave gear.Wrapped everything up with a quick rinse and pat dry. Followed that up with a glug of the AS and everything was right as rain! Yes ... yes it was. That was the shave I needed today. Life is good!

So a few changes to be made. As I said, CC Venture to the PIF pile. I am also moving the J Allen into the practice/ backup razor lot. I would like to find another low cost, English SR to replace that one. And ... I think that’s it for now. Have a great day!
