The Process-
On deck today we have a sample of Wickhams 1912 Frankincense. I am really digging the scent of this sample. It was green off the tub and I wasn't real sure about that. So I threw a bit in the bowl and go it. Once lathered, it's kinda green (light) and spicy. Really nice! Yup, I'm digging it. Started with a damp brush and started working it in the bowl adding a drop of two of water as I went. Then wet my face and got to it ... Whoomp there it is! A very nice, wet lather to work with. And that scent ... man oh man. It didn't fade the whole shave. Very nice indeed.

So 40 laps on leather and it was go time. I went with my standard shave of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. Man I was really into that shave ... lost in the scent. I didn't even notice the slickness and what-not. I'm told it's nice. I was just really lost in the moment. An outstanding shave and I am BBS for the win! That's what I am talking about right there!

Wrapped everything up with a splash of water and a pat dry. A splash of WH and a healthy splash of the AS and everything was right as rain! That spash wasn't an awesome pairing, but I got to continue the spicy. Maybe I should have opted for Avon Spicy. Anyway, this shave was kinda bittersweet and one I probably should have avoided. The shave itself was great, but I went to check on pricing and availability of the soap and it appears to be discontinued. Oh well ... a good shave non the less. Life is good!

Home Front-
I'm sure there is/was something going on.

Bittersweet for sure. I've gone on more than one chase after trying a soap that is not longer being made. Ended up scoring a couple of them.

So, this morning I thought I would give Sandpiper a try. This scent seems to have a decent following, so why not. Also, I may or may not have hit snooze, so a DE got the nod as well. I have confessed many a time that I have an untrained nose and I don't know if I could separate two scents if I had two. At any rate, the soap does smell nice on the tub and also when lathered. If it opened up during the shave, I didn't notice. I am unable to pick out any certain scent. Again, it smells nice but was missing something to draw me in. Probably just me. I don't need to tell you about Stirling performance, which is very nice. I do like the tallow and lanolin formula and it works well for me.

I went with my standard shave of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. An easy peasy shave and it was outstanding! As an added bonus, I am BBS for the win! Love those kinda shaves. Wrapped everything up with a splash of water and a pat dry. A splash of WH and a bit of the ASB and everything was right as rain! As I said, a nice performing soap, but the scent just didn't make the cut for me. Life is good!

Home Front-
Just living the dream and taking care of business. I am off on Friday ... yeah me! For Friday, I have a follow-up with the toe doc and one of the dogs has a vet appointment ... fun times. I think that's it at the moment. I am really enjoying the soap sample pass around. All the different scents and what-not. I was reflecting and I think I may dig trying soaps that are no longer sold. Maybe one of those chance of a lifetime things, in a simple way.

TGITHMF! Yeah ... you figure that out. So I decided to switch gears and try some different samples for the next few days. Today I went with PannaCrema Nuavia Rossa. This is one I will probably not purchase because of the price, so I had to try it. It smelled good on the tub, but really opened up once lathered. To my untrained nose, it's in the same wheelhouse as Proraso Wood and Spice. Anyway, grabbed a badger brush and got to it. Hit the copper bowl whipped up really nice lather ... and that smell ... goodness. The badger did fine today, which was kinda surprising but I'll take it.

I went with my standard shave of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. Oh my goodness ... that was a great shave! The Slim always delivers and the scent stayed with the entire shave. Oh ... did I mention that I was BBS for the win?

I wrapped everything up with just a bit of water. No WH, no AS, just a bit of water. And everything was right as rain! Come on, you knew that was coming. The soap scent alone probably lasted about 2 hours or so. Call me impressed. That was a great shave and I am glad that I took advantage of that one. Life is good!

Home Front-
I have been as busy as a one armed poster hanger in a wind storm. Good grief, I am glad this work day is over.

@Patelliott The lather wasn’t terribly dense, but wasn’t airy, if that makes sense. Held a good amount of water and felt light on your face. Soap scum in thr sink was minimal as well.

The Process-
Well, I did shave yesterday but I guess I forgot to log it with all the running around. It was MW and that was another nice shave. So today is a new day and sample. This one whipped up really nice with the badger. I mostly picked up on the honey and had enough for all three passes and post shave.

I went with my standard shave of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. very nice lather but could have been a bit wetter. Still a very nice shave and I am BBS for the win!

Wrapped everything up with just a splash of water and a quick pat dry. of water. No WH, just a splash of AS and everything was right as rain! That soap had a nice light scent, so I chose Everest to follow that up. Good call and I smell great. Life is good!

Home Front-
Busy day yesterday, but it’s all good. Today the yard is mowed, then a shower and shave. Now going to one of the kids for dinner. Have a great day.

The Process-
Late morning shave that was very nice. I had pulled a couple more samples out and put them in wax paper so I could ship out the pass around box. This soap was one of the samples, it lathered up nicely and had a pleasant, clean scent. There was enough for three passes and a post shave lather.

40 laps on leather and it was go time. I went with my standard shave of WTG, XTG and ATG with no drama to report. Another really nice shave and I am BBS for the win! Wrapped everything up with just a splash of water and a quick pat dry. No WH or AS today and everything was right as rain! The scent of the soap was light enough to go any direction with an AS, but I just wanted to check out the post shave quality, which was nice. Life is good!

Home Front-
Friday and Saturday were busier than they sound in my post, so today is a chill day. I’m also kinda interested to see what this coming week holds. Stores around here are being wiped out on guns and ammo now. Interesting times. Hunker down and have a good day!
