Never shaved this late before, but a busy day with no hot water this morning led to it. Story time was had during the Zoom call. In the end we’re all moved to the house but miles away from having space for everything. So organizing and more downsizing is in the future.

Wife and I are hurting units today. Her neck and head because of all the low level cleaning yesterday. And my knee actually feels swollen inside. I suppose work is a good thing at this point as I get to put it up and ice is here. Still digging through boxes just to find normal stuff so I repeated last night's shave this morning. Shaved off the top of a pimple or ingrown yesterday and grazed it again today so it was the old toilet paper to the face.

Some small positives today. This is the first day since I hurt my knee that it's not worse than the previous day. So I hold out hope now that the race to move day is over. I also got a chuck of organization done, so we're 75% of the way of being able to fit a car in the garage, which is a plus since our high speed charger is in there. Also ran to the store and got what I needed to finish off what is needed to make the cigar room smokeable. There's a 50% chance I'll be able to take it for a test during Drinks & Daves tonight with the only exception being a towel under the door instead of the raised threshold and under door seal I'll eventually install.

Peer with me into the future, my friends....where Bougie is puffing away on a cigar and chatting about left handed pencil sharpeners and there's a knock on the cigar room door......the sound of an angry family just inches away from his Inner Sanctum...his Fortress of Billowy Smoke...his Bougie Cave......he fumbles for the mute button......one butt cheek perched on a tiny temu sized chair.....

Oh believe me, that is the fear.

The big accomplishment yesterday was finally being able to squeeze a car into the garage which is most helpful when that's where your high speed charger is.

Finally Friday, but I have a stooopid meeting scheduled until 4:30 today. Super lame. This weekend is shaping up like recent ones. Just pick something off the task list and get to it. Yesterday I was going to paint the small area of the kitchen that needs it, but there was a side-task that came up with that. So likely tonight. And I got my two watch holders mounted on the wall. I had one that sat on my dresser plus a watch box, but decided to free up space there. Now I just have to run across that watch box to fill out the 2nd cabinet. Also moved a thin cabinet into the cigar lounge which now houses pipes, tobacco, and all the little things. The gas to the furnace was turned off for some reason when we moved in so decided to make sure everything was fine with that before it cooled down, and nothing. Looks like no power to that either, and this one doesn't even have a pilot light. So someone will need to come out and deal with that.

No surprise it was a busy weekend. Saw my daughter on Saturday and then chipped away at house tasks. Have the TV mounted and stereo connected in the lounge. I was going to set-up the main stereo in the living room, but decided after more than 15 years it's time for a new amp. It's like a camera. Still works fine, but is away behind in terms of tech since I got it before HDMI was standard. Long story short, going to upgrade in terms of quality and if all goes well, I hope to be getting something through Facebook marketplace this afternoon. Also replaced some outlets that weren't holding plugs very well. Despite getting rid of a box load of soaps before the move, I have a large dresser full, a box under the bed and a large under bed storage tub full. Basically I need to get rid of more to have enough space to soaps with their aftershaves to use them together.

Yesterday I did complete my deal for a new to me Marantz receiver and spent the evening hooking up the main living room system. Have a lot to learn about it, but already the coolest part is it communicating with the TV so the TV speakers automatically come off and on depending if the receiver is on. This is also the first time we've had the network router in the same area, so the the cable box, Apple TV, PS5, and receiver are all hardwired. Today is big happenings as the countertop guys are coming to install this afternoon as well and someone to look at the furnace. This means tomorrow the appliances will be installed. Then we're down to the tiling, cabinet handles, and final adjustments!
