We have the jury duty system where you're up for one day. Call in the night before to see if you need to come in. Either you do, you have to call back to see if you need to come in the afternoon, or you're let go. My poor wife was told to come back in the afternoon a few days ago. Not a good sign because that means something is going down. Most of the time you don't need to go in at all. So she's ended up going through the jury selection process for a criminal trial that is going through next Friday. Even worse, she's an alternate. Which has to be the suckiest of all. Sit though the whole thing and then when they start to deliberate you just go home.

In other news, the youngest's boyfriend earned himself a talk on the deck. So tomorrow we have scheduled a few hours at Top Golf with her and the boyfriend to get to know him, but before that he's coming over earlier so we can chat. Good times.

Don’t forget to put the shotgun just behind your chair with him facing you that all you’ll need to do. , and also a broken beer bottle on the table between you is a very nice touch

Not sure if earning “a talk on the deck” is a good or bad thing. 🤔 Regardless, here is some advice from my cousin, father of a wonderful daughter. First, lay out all your guns on the patio table, and busy yourself cleaning one. Be sure to wear this T-shirt:

Well lame. Friday I realized I would hit 1500 days in a row of not missing a shave and figured I'd do something special. Then I promtly forgot. Busy weekend starting with out first trip to Top Golf. The golfing part was cool, and I was super happy to not tweak something in my back. No surprise the food was meh. My wife has started to ask about getting new cabinets in the kitched of the house we're moving back to. She's always hated that kitchen so I told her lets go get an estimate. We went to the closest cabinet place and was a little surprised to see their main sign also displayed in kanji. Well, whatever, cabinets are cabinets. But despite our open-mindedness it was a odd experience that ended getting passed through several people before getting a rough esitmate based just on photos. We were suprised to hear that it takes a week from demo to finished install. We'll have to visit another place after we measure our cabinets and have a better conversation. Then we watched Gangs of New York. This one was next on our movie poster list and we have been avoiding it because of the length and the trailer make it look terrbile. It was actually a good movie for us. Sunday was a good deal of starting to pack. Hopefully we'll be able to just pluck away at it each weekend to avoid a last minute grind.
