Night shaving soap / AS scents

I am a daily night shaver. I typically shave an hour or two before I turn in for the night. I am almost to the point where I am needing to purchase some soap / AS.
I realize that lavender is going to be mentioned a lot as a suggestion, but I have not found a lavender that I really like.
CBL makes banana and grape soda that sound amazing but the scents from the AS would mask the scent.

Couple questions
1- is there a good AS that would not mask the scent of the soap but be effective?
2- what other suggestions do you have that would be subtle enough to use right before bed?

I have been using the Stirling Almond Creme and the Oleo Melonade and those have both been good. I had the Stirling executive man but that was a bit strong that late.

Suggestions?

Do either of them have a scent?
Speick has a green, herbal scent.

There’s also Lucky Tiger if you want dark/orangey (scent probably does off in less than 5 minutes). Plain ol witch hazel will do you just fine too, or scent up a generic bottle of it with a few drops of essential oil for some variety.

I’m also a night shaver. i like to use mellow scents for the most part, such as WCS/Caties Bubbles Grapefroot. I’ve been really enjoying CBL ROS in the evening as well. For a post shave I’ve pretty much exclusively using Zingari Man unscented balm. It’s quite soothing and I wake up with my face feeling hydrated and soft.

Never heard of zingari man.
where do you find that at?

I enjoy a good balm to help hydrate. Utah is a day state and I have found balms help me. The Nevia 2:1 sounds good as well.

I got the balm from her website but Maggard’s and WCS sells it as well. Her Sego base soap is amazing as well.

Why would that be? Unless you gave us some indication that's what you're looking for, I"m not sure what you said that would make us recommend that. Maybe I missed somehting.

Soap scents don't generally linger after you rinse the last pass's lather off your face. I suppose there's probably a few really strong soaps that do linger, but most do not. So there shouldn't be any lingering scent for the AS to mask/interfere with. Just use what you like and don't worry about it.

2- what other suggestions do you have that would be subtle enough to use right before bed?
Again, use what you like. Why does it have to be suble?

That said, if you're looking for light scents that don't last very long my two best suggestions are Speick and 4711.

Castle Forbes is lavender. If you're looking for a pure, fresh cut lavender fragrance, this is the one. The AS is a bit weaker than than the soap, but it's a winner, imo.

Why would that be?
He assumed many may recommend due to it's known calming affect and bedtime shave

Lavender works as an anxiolytic (an anxiety reliever) and as a sedative, to increase relaxation and calm, and help bring about sleep. Lavender interacts with the neurotransmitter GABA to help quiet the brain and nervous system activity, reducing agitation, anger, aggression, and restlessness.

Hmm... never would have thought of that. I don't find lavender relaxing, in shave products.
You quoted before I could google for explanation ;)

I saw your edit after I posted. I love the smell of lavender flowers..... but in shaving products it always smells wrong. It's too pungent.... not relaxing for me.
