Can’t add much to what was said above. However, as the saying goes, looks can be deceiving. Some of the lather pictures you see are what I call lather porn. Sexy and perfect, but we all know reality is usually much sloppier and imperfect. Frankly, I think a great deal of bowl latherers produce a lather that has too much cushion for my tastes and is subsequently “painted” on the face. I swear by face lathering as I prefer a slicker and thinner lather that develops as I exfoliate. To each his own, but the business end of a lather is the slickness and cushion closest to the skin. Keep practicing using the same product whether you bowl or face lather. It takes practice. You will get there.
