Mitchell's Wool Fat, how soon I forget

I just don’t understand the controversy with MWF and why people have difficulty with it. I think I have tried over 400 different soaps in the last 5 years and MWF is still one of my favorites. I shave with it about every 4th shave. My only valid complaint with it is that it is so slick I dropped my ceramic container it came in and it broke.

We tried to figure that out on the previous site but we could never come to a conclusion. Its not a hard water issue (debunked by several with hard water), its not a prep issue (also debunked), and its not an experience level issue (many multi soapers have had issues with it and a bunch of rookies have been happy with the first use). Its a finicky soap, to say the least. I'm guessing that the Fat chooses the face.

Bummer about the broken pot. Hope you got it replaced.

I never got along with MWF, tried 2 different pucks over the years. Also wasnt fond of the scent. It may be one of the 2 or 3 soap brands i just didnt appreciate

MWF has become one of my favorite soaps. I use a synthetic brush and lots of water and have never had an issue creating good lather with it. That said, I think it is fair to say that we may have different preferences in our lather. I have found that MWF shines when it is in daily use.
