Martin De Candre

I have a Fougere in the glass jar that I got from Bob (beginish) quite some time ago.
Funny thing for me is that it is the only non-tallow soap I have tried that doesn't dry out on my face. I tried that fancy one in the ceramic jars with the red blue and I think green stripes on the 3 flavors, PDP, SV, Prorasso, and a few others. Every one of them (and the few melt and pours I've tried) will dry out in the first pass of a 5 minute total shave.
Don't know why. Prorasso was the worst for me. I could have water running down my arm it was so wet, but before I got half my face done, it was dried out and flaky on my face.

For some reason though, MDC just works for me. Super easy to lather. I still have barely made a dent in the stupid thing. Slick. Leaves my face feeling good. And it smells good. I think it's expensive up front, but for the life you get out of it, it definitely balances out.

Are there better soaps out there? I think so. But I definitely would never get rid of mine as I do think it is right up there near the top.
I totally forgot about that.

The soap price itself actually isn’t too bad for a premium soap. It’s the shipping that kills you. One time I organized a group buy and got something like 15 jars from them. The shipping cost wasn’t much more than a single jar, so everyone got a better deal.

When I think about buying soap again, I always have a jar of MdC in the plans (along with MWF, Provence Sante Green Tea and Institut Karite).

Agree with most. It's a great soap. The price per shave isn't terrible, but it's still a bit high. There are better soaps out there, though. I won a jar of Fougere that I'll keep around. That Fougere scent is somewhat unique. I do wish they would make a matching splash.

Finally Ordered me one. Not shaving till it gets Here.

They have bar soaps, shower gels, and other stuff for her too..... 😁
Their bar soaps are wonderful, I can attest.

The original will always be in my den, it is a fantastic soap that has lasted me years! I have a la Cannelle and will order another if it ever gets low.

I regretted selling my original, the moment it left my hands. I never used it so it left the den, but man I loved that scent. Sometimes I'd just go into the den and smell it.
