looking for some recommendations on wood types

its been a while since i have gotten a new shaving brush. i was looking at different stylings and came across this one
1740181130260.jpegim trying to find a wood that will go with the resin top part. would any of you know of wood that would match the resin part? thanks
 
I’ve seen many wood/ acrylic type combos. Not sure any are better than the others In terms of build quality. It really comes down to aesthetics and do you trust the brush maker.

Say “wood type” and here is where my mind goes….a different kind of wood type.

Sorry, no thread hi-jack intended…but I do actually remember using this stuff as a young man (it was very antiquated then) and I am still a printer.

Please return to shaving brush handles.

Hahah, i was thinking the samw thing but i couldnt figure out a better way to phrase it
 
The sky is the limit for something like that. The resin color will go well with a lot, so it depends on whether you want something close to that color, like yellow oak, or to contrast it. Something darker brown like Mahogany or Wenge(if you like a lot of pattern) would give you a tobacco and whiskey vibe when combined with that top.

You could go to a site like Penn State Industries and look at their wood blanks page if you wanted to see some examples of different woods. They've got a lot of variety.
 
If you want matching, a dyed blank would be good. I see them a lot in knife handle materials. Maple, birch, amboyna... lots of options and plenty of different figuring to choose from.
Personally I would go with a darker contrasting piece. Maybe even something like dark turkish walnut or ebony.
