I went for a rare shave in the evening yesterday. I was done with my workout, the wife was over at her mom's, and I had the house to myself. So a shave just felt right. Continuing with the Artisan and Hobbyist shave theme of the month I pulled out a soap that I haven't used before (sort of). I received a tub of CBL's V for Vetiver in a trade with Kyle. I am definitely aware of how Chris @CBLindsay @CBLSoap.com makes a great shave soap, as well as most of us here. Lathered it up with one of my favorite brushes made by one of TSC's hobbyists Eric @Smattayu. This soap is super creamy and I love the consistency of the lather. I wish the scent was a tad stronger...but soap scents never last anyway...so what does it matter. Just such a superb lather!

A quick note on the blade...I have been using the 7 O'Clock Super Platinum blades off and on for a while now. Over the last month...this is the only blade I used. I am begining to think this just might be THE blade. I mean...it only took me almost six years of wet shaving to figure that out. So the question is...will I stick only with this blade...or will my goldfish like attention span get the better of me...SQUIRREL!!!

Back to the shave...since I was thicker than usual in the vibrissae department...I opted for a four pass shave last night. I mowed those bad boys down. When it was all over...I reached for a glug or two (or maybe three) of Ultimate Osage...a concoction by the great apothecary and TSC Hobbyist... @uacowboy. It's really good stuff...puts hair on your chest...and back...and...well we won't say where else.

I finished the shave off with not a splash but with the Post Shave Elixir made by @LNHC , this stuff is really good. A couple of squirts in your hand and the face feels smooth and moisturized. I was mostly BBS and this morning I am still feeling smooth!

Bill in Oneida contacted me as he had some mold growing in his. I quickly checked mine in fear but they're fine. I think he put his away wet and they sat awhile. Soon as I smelled it I knew it was up for today ! (y)

Good morning all! Hope everyone had a pleasant night.

Back to the "June Shave Theme" shave this morning. Went with LNHC Barber Shoppe today. Again, I find it interesting how differently the category of "Barber Shop" scents is interpreted.. Smells great, but not a Barber Shop scent IMY. Great comfortable shave though.. Finished with Stirling's "Barbershop" splash & EdT.

Thanks for reading and hope you have a great day!!

This was actually Wednesday Night's Shave. For some reason I am just getting around to it. Wednesday afternoon I did a workout while grilling some chicken and I was running a little late to the TSC Zoom call. So I jumped in the shower and when I emerged, I was left wondering what I was going to use for my shave. Weekend in Malibu (WiM) was out and I decided to go with pretty much an all Stirling shave. Great! Because it is Artisan and Hobbyist Month!

Weekend in Malibu is seriously one of my favorite scents period! And as an added bonus too...the wife likes the smell...preggos or not! WiM is totally a summertime scent that I would wear year round. Dead of winter in Utqiagvik, Alaska? Yeah...I would wear it. I might wear it especially if it was dead of winter in Utqiagvik, Alaska! Where in the Waldo Carmen San Diego is Utqiagvik?

"Utqiagvik is the largest city of the North Slope Borough in the U.S. state of Alaska and is located north of the Arctic Circle. It is one of the northernmost public communities in the world and is the northernmost city in the United States. "

So there you go. But yeah...I would use WiM while shaving with a whale bone and feasting on seal fat! There you go! Maybe we can get Frank @Dragonsbeard or Chris @CBLSoap.com to formulate a shave soap with seal blubber! While we are at it...maybe Rod with Stirling @Joe Hackett can make a shave set called Weekend in Utqiagvik! Though I dare say that if you make it that far north...you are likely to spend more than a weekend there.

Oh...and the shave...right. It was spectacular. Just a minor bit of seepage on the neck that was really of no concern. BBS mostly...but just a really great shave!
