If you have to do something...

Meager PTO days finally officially confirmed through the end of the year. It ain’t much but it’s something.
We were given an extra one after thanksgiving and the email from HR made it sound like we should be grateful that our esteemed leader decided to grant us this reprieve from our daily toils. It felt very Dickensian. "thank you sir.....may I have some more?"

I'll be thinking of your ungrateful soul while I'm at work that day....

Shave #291 (1311 Open Blade Shaves) of 2025:

Gear: Tedalus Essence, Feather Pro Guard blade, Yaqi Moka synth brush, Proraso Green soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe, Nivea Sensitive AS Balm, some kind of AS, and Amouage Portrayal to finish!

Disaster strikes! My glasses broke this morning at the bridge. Le sigh. Thankfully I kept my decrepit older pair around. So my Friday will be work interspersed with car repair, hopefully a haircut, and getting in to the optometrist.

At least it is Friday!

Shave #292 (1312 Open Blade Shaves) of 2025:

Gear: Tedalus Essence, Feather Pro Guard blade, Yaqi Moka synth brush, Proraso Green soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe, Nivea Sensitive AS Balm, some kind of AS, and Prada Luna Rossa to finish!

A nice, thick marine layer this morning. You can actually see the small wispy clouds of fog pass by in front of you here and there. It’ll warm up later into the 70s.

Going out for a little sweet treat this morning, then back home for chores. Going to a folk music concert tonight to support a friend.

My wife says the also likes the music…Im not convinced.
While I live in NY, I like listening to WFMT, a classical station from Chicago, through their free online streaming while I work. They have a Saturday night program called “Folkstage” that features live performances of folk music. The performers are all clearly very talented and the crowd is passionate about the art form, but it’s just not for me. Who knows, my tastes may change dramatically in the future!

Shave #293 (1313 Open Blade Shaves) of 2025:

Gear: Tedalus Essence, Feather Pro Guard blade, Yaqi Moka synth brush, Proraso Green soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe, Nivea Sensitive AS Balm, some kind of AS, and YSL Rive Gauche to finish!

Have a blessed Sunday all!

Gear: Tedalus Essence, Feather Pro Guard blade, Yaqi Moka synth brush, Proraso Green soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe, Nivea Sensitive AS Balm, some kind of AS, and Pinaud Citrus Musk to finish!

Monday. A drippy wet morning marine layer blanketing everything. It’ll warm up later though.

Busy day ahead!

I've been to Santa Barbara.....they haven't heard of streetlights yet. Very simple people. No clocks either. Sun up....Day time. Sun Down....night.

It’s true…many pockets of rather sub par infrastructure. Plus city government had to cut down the lamplighter workforce again due to budget costs. Even the corner newspaper boy raised prices to a nickle! The inflation rate is outrageous I tell you! Bad enough I had to cut us down to a single horse and buggy family.

Shave #296 (1316 Open Blade Shaves) of 2025:

Gear: Tedalus Essence, Feather Pro Guard blade, Yaqi Moka synth brush, Proraso Green soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe, Nivea Sensitive AS Balm, some kind of AS, and Penhaligon’s Sartorial to finish!

Rain on the horizon starting tomorrow! How much? I don’t know…but currently forecasted for potentially 5 days of it. We sure need it!

Work on the house we rent being scheduled potentially towards the end of next week, which means a decent upset to routines. Furniture will have to be moved out of some areas and we’ll have to vacate during that period…sigh.

Busy work day ahead. OT workout later tonight.
